I know the answer is probably yes but I just want to make sure since I only have enough for his examination.
If you’ve been reading some of my posts you’ll know that Thumpers face is a mess, literally. He’s still acting normal, drinking his usual amount, eating his normal amount and pooping and peeing normally but someone on rabbitsonline said that he looks skinner to them (it could be because of how I took his picture the first time compared to his newer one but he does look a bit skinnier to me too) and someone else said that his face has been a mess for too long and that because it’s worse he should see a vet. Below is his first picture and the second is the one I took yesterday. Also please excuse the mess, my vacuum died so I can’t spot clean currently.

Oof that second pic does look much worse. Even when my buns get salad juice on their face or drink from their bowls it doesn’t’ get that wet. My first thought is perhaps a dental issue causing drooling, so yes I agree that a vet visit would be a good idea.

I thought so. I’m going to call the vet hopefully tomorrow to see when they have the exotic expert in and see what they say.

Awe, please keep us updated. Yes take them to the vet, hope it goes well.
Even though he is eating, this does look like a dental issue of some sort. I think you should have it checked out. The spot looks like it has been moist for some time. Plus the fur looks clumped together and “crunchy”, which is more consistent with drooling.
Called the vet and the earliest we can get him in is August 4th, I’ll let you all know how it goes

Keep a very close eye on him until then and I’d also recommend weighing him, he does look a little gaunt in the latter photo and if you weigh him now you’ll be able to get a comparison weight on the day of your vet visit.
Obviously if there are other symptoms such as stopping eati g or pooping before your appointment date he’ll need to be seen straight away.
His face looks better today (I don’t know what happened last night when I went to sleep) but I’m still gonna take him to the vet just to be safe

It looks slightly better but is still very wet. Whatever the source, prolonged dampness can cause other issues, like fungal infections. I also notice it looks like he’s squinting in these pics? Could just be the flash or camera angle but squinting is also a sign of pain.

It’s from the flash, which I hate but my room is a bit dark so no flash photos aren’t great.

Just thought I’d give an update, his face looks better but he’s still going to the vet and sorry it’s not a good photo, he was not in a cooperating mood

@BunnyLass568 Any update for Thumper?
The one side of his face is clean but now the otherside is a bit messy, we had to reschedule his appointment so now it’s August 21st.

Awe sorry to hear that. What’s his face looking like now?
This is the best picture I could get, his other side is all clean but now it’s this side

This is very weird! Nice to see him tuck into his hay like a champ though 😍
Yes, this is strange.
Just to give an update, both sides of his face are now clean and there’s no return of whatever happened, even after giving him and Blossom some grapes. He’s still going to get his examination, better safe than sorry after all!

Update, we canceled Thumper’s vet appointment. His face has cleared completely and he’s still being his normal self and I also got sick (sinus infection) and with being sick the vet won’t let me in even with a mask (which I always wear), my mom also convinced me that it’d be a waste of money to get him checked since he’s doing really well and should save my money for when either he or Blossom are sick/really need a vet.

I think that is a wise move. If it had persisted, it would of course have been totally different. Should it return and not clear up, you can always get a new appointment. Since you are a highly concientious pet owner, you’ll routinely keep a close eye.
It’s just lovely that it cleared up 😊
