My rabbit currently is in my bedroom which is tiny and I don’t have much room she is in a xpen this one to be exact http://www.petsmart.com/product/ind…Id=2751767 I was thinking of building her a new cage out of NIC Cubes that I have left over from another one of my bunnies. I was going to create her a little 2nd floor just buy attaching 3 NIC Grids across the one side with zip ties. I had a few questions.

        1. Should I build her a new cage?

        2. What should type of floor should I put on top of her 2nd level?

        3. Is it ok to use a desk chair mat as the floor of the NIC Cube cage?

        thanks so much

Do you think the pen is not working for her?

It is working for her. Except the floor is not working for her. I have a piece of cardboard with sticky tiles over top and she has dumped her water bowl over a few times that i have to remove the cardboard. My disabled bun is in a cage i built out of NIC cubes. I have a dog crate that I can’t sell so I am moving my disabled bun in the dog crate and I am using his cage for Sunshine and taking down her xpen. I saw all the cages made out of NIC cubes on this site and really liked them. So i wanted to create one for sunshine.

I would get a piece of cut linoleum for the floor. The chair pads aren’t very big and they have a weird texture in my opinion. You could use lino with either a NIC condo or an xpen.

I have a NIC condo attached to a pen for my bonded girls. It’s great, and they like the extra pen space to play in.
