How long do lops shed. Do they shed all the time or 3or 4 times a year? Just curious.

Puh. Mimzy seems to be in a state of perpetual shedding, bt. But I think anybunny only blows their coat 3 times per year…supposedly. :-/

I think weather conditions, confinement to exercise ratio, grooming and diet must all play a part too though, yes?

All bunnies shed 4 times. 2 heavy, 2 light. However, some bunnies do an explosion shed, while others take weeks and weeks to shed each time.

OH Freckles is a mini lop and I feel I like really have 2-5 more bunnies in the house when she sheds. She’s not really in to being brushed either so it’s always pain for her heavy shedding.

Mocha on the other hand… of course, we’ve only had him a short time, has shown no signs of shedding yet. His coat seems a lot thinner too. I dunno… maybe he already had his hairy moment before we got him.
