So Little Miss Diva here is PICKY about new foods. Seriously. Like I have to corner her and shove it under her nose practically to get her to even lick it once. Of course I don’t force her if she really doesn’t want to, but thus far she seems more prissy than angry at new foods, and I have yet to give her something she hasn’t liked (don’t even get me STARTED on bananas). So I’ve tried raisins a few times in the usual ways, leaving them sit in her habitat for a while, then trying to put it under her nose to sniff/lick, and backing her into her little corner to which she promptly scampered off and hid her nose.
Thusly I abandoned the raisin idea.
A few nights ago I was eating a little box of raises and she hops over and periscopes, looking at me with her head tilted like, WTH? Don’t I get some? So I’m like, okay then, and put one under her nose. Sniffs and nose wiggles commence, until little miss delicate allows the raisin to touch her tongue for the briefest of a lick after I swear at least one full minute of debating. She steps back to ponder said flavor, then sniffs again, to my encouragement of ‘good girl’s. Another lick. Progress. A few more. Then a nibble! She backs up. I bring it closer. She backs up. I put it down under her nose. I tell her how yummy it is, and shrug. She stares at me. I give up and eat some raisins, watching t.v. again. She continues to stare, ears straight at me. So then after two handfuls of raisins for me, her highness hops forward and gobbles down said raisin resting on the floor.
Well.
I put down a second raisin, which she then quickly scamper/runs away from to hide. As if it was seriously going to hurt her. *rolls eyes* I eat some more raisins, coming to the end of the box. Quick as you pleae, out pops a bunny head, a tongue snatching up second raisin, only to see head pop back into hiding once more, leaving me, sitting there staring at the bare floor, wondering how in the world this little diva’s mind works.
