I haven’t been on BB as much as I like lately, because I’m having a very bad month.
On October 14 I got into a car accident. Technically considered my fault, so points against my insurance. Destroyed front bumper, headlights, grill. Took 2 weeks to get the car back from the body shop (they said 1 week, then 2 more days, then 1 more day, then 2 more days again…meanwhile the rental car bill was adding up).
Finally got the car back on October 30.
Then had 3 shows in 1 week. One of which at the high school I teach at, where everybody in my entire department left except for me. So the entire rest of the staff is new, including my boss. And the kids are confused, and nothing is organized, and I ended up having to get unpleasant to people twice my age who think they know everything, just in order to keep the show running. And the third show was with a producer who hired me to be a lighting designer, and then decided that I was also her secretary. And that she didn’t have to be nice about making me be her secretary, either.
The day of that show (which I was looking forward to as the beginning of normalcy again!), somebody tried to jump across the street I was driving on in a gap in traffic. There was no gap. There was me, driving 30 miles an hour. 1 week after getting the car back, it was re-crashed on Saturday. Destroyed front bumper, grill, headlights, radiator, etc. Even worse than last time. The body shop that had just replaced all that stuff stared in disbelief as the car got towed back in. And I cried in frustration in front of the Long Beach Police Department AND Fire Department. It won’t be fixed for at least 3 weeks this time.
And on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, my perfectly bonded bunnies broke up in a very ugly way. Robbie attacked Lizzy, and me, and seems to have had a weird personality transplant.
Today is Friday. It’s my birthday. Happy birthday, to me.
Done whining, now. Thanks for listening.

Huge hugs to you. Car accidents and work problems are never ever fun.
Maybe you should take a little Rescue Remedy.

Awe oh my gosh your car again. Was that a pedestrian that run in front of you or a car? A pedestrian you were trying to avoid hitting?
Dang I got rear ended 3x in 1 yr. I gave up driving. I lost my nerve. and now my back bothers me if I would drive anyway.
I am sure that you will not lose your nerve to drive. With every distress comes ease. After these trials you will experience ease. It takes a bit to get through the difficulties. May Allah make your difficulties easy. And pass them quickly. Ameen.
I am sure you have had enuf for 1 month to last a lifetime. bubble bath and candles and wine. Go relax for a bit try to forget about all those problems for a few.
This too shall pass. May they be done with
Sorry to hear of this rough patch. Don’t fret about bringing it here, if its help you unload some of it then that’s great! I like K&K suggestions, go do something fun, make yourself laugh.
Happy Birthday Lightchick, with lots of good luck wishes coming your way! Remember, tomorrow is a brand new day…and so is the next one and the next and the next!
Happy b’day for yesterday!
Well what a crappy crappy month! But they say bad things always come in threes so maybe now you’ve had enough bad things and life will become nicer again.
What’s your favorite thing? Do that! I love passion fruit gelato and it always makes me a little bit happier – it doesn’t fix everything but reminds me that the world isn’t all bad, just most of it
(jokes)
Feel better xoxo
Eeeek…it can only get better right???
Happy Bday!!!! Have a drink for me!
The one thing about feeling like you’re on the bottom rung is that there’s nowhere to go but up!
I am so sorry to hear about all this mess, and I thought *I* was having a rough season! I don’t drive anymore if I can help it. I’ve had the hubby be the chauffeur for too long up here and in winter, fergeddaboutit! >.< The weather is simply too dangerous to even set foot out in, much less four wheels.
We actually blew a tire in heavy traffic yesterday. Someone had apparently lost their exacto knife in the snow at the side of the road. Well, we found it. Almost $300 to replace ONE TIRE. But we didn’t flip or roll, so I count it as a relatively good day.
What on earth could’ve set Robbie off like this? I suppose he could know things aren’t going well with you and he may be reacting to it, but then I would think it would be coming out of Lizzy too. Have you been having strange weather or earthquakes lately? Perhaps he had a pocket of hormones still stashed away somewhere? Are they doing better now?
You sound like you could use a huge hug ((((((((((((((((((((((Lightchick))))))))))))))))))) and a very Happy Birthday to you! I’ll keep you all in my prayers. *nods*
P.S. You have a jpeg waiting to be picked up at my Photobucket site. It’s too huge to bring to Binky and for some reason my art program won’t let me size it, but I made it hoping it could cheer you up some.
Hope you like it, here’s the link:

Oh Mimz that is simply too adorable! (Sorry I had to look)
Lightchick lots of (((((HUGS))))) from me, Bonsai and Daffodil. It sounds like things have been a trial lately but they will get better. Do your best to keep your chin up and your face to the sun.
Bunny hugs to you!!!
Awww, thank so much, all! You’re all the best!
And Mimzmum, thank you for the picture! Aww, so cute, made me cry to be reminded of when my babies liked each other…

I, of course, had a show in rehearsal over the weekend of my birthday, so I didn’t get to do much exciting. (Yeah, Rescue Remedy might have helped. I went with vodka, instead, though!
)
But the good news is, the body shop says my car should be done before they shut down for Thanksgiving. I got a copy of the police report for the accident, and gave it to my insurance, so hopefully they will make the other guys’ insurance pay for my rental car. I got grades in on time, and shows open without incident. And Lizzy is cuddle-deprived since Robbie broke up with her, so now she jumps up on the sofa with me for cuddles. Poor girl. She seems to be healing up nicely, though.
Robbie actually jumps up on the couch for cuddles, too, and I’m mostly being nice to him to try to get him better socialized. Except when he bites at her through the pen bars. Then I don’t like him so much..
Thank you all for all then nice thoughts!
