My new bun Hutch is very old and although the vet said she is healthy her legs tend to shake at times.  I notice it when she is sitting on my lap, it is not all the time.  She does not seem stressed or upset when she does it.  Is this possibly a little arthritis, and is there anything to do to help her or know if its painful?

How old is she? If she’s a senior bun, she might be helped with a daily dose of glucosamine. I was told by my vet to give some ground up on my bunny’s food when he was 7 and the use of his back legs diminished. I also was given some metacam, a pain killer, when he was clearly hurting, and it relieved him for quite a while. So if it’s shaking but not keeping her from using her legs, she probably isn’t in pain yet. You can try cosamine, and one other recommendation that Katnipcrzy made in a post in the Q&A section. Someone here know which thread that was in?

She’s estimated around ten years old. Ill try the glucosamine!! thanks so much for the input!! Do you know the expected life span for a bun? I’ve been told 5-6 yrs by some people and 10 yrs by others. I hope she has a few years left in her, i need her cuddles :s.
