Okay, so I took a risk last night and I am SO glad I didn’t pay for it in the worst way.

It was time to put Mimzy to bed, so I let him roam around on mine for a few minutes. Fiver, once again, seemed really interested in him, so I held my breath and opened his door.

He came out on the bed, Mimzy took a sniff inside the cage door and then turned away….

….and Fiver went straight for his throat with a growl and a snap.

Luckily, Mimzy pulled away in time, no wound, not even fur pulled out.

But that scared me to death. I am NOT putting them together again for awhile. I really just think I have three individual bunnies who really don’t have any interest in bonding. Chaps me, Mimzy is SO mellow, you’d think that would be something another bun would embrace…but not Pip or Fiver.

        lolz…His new nickname is “Killer”.

mine did the same thing MM and they bonded. you’ve got to start slooooooow and neeeeeuuuuuuuutraaaal. just putting them together on a whim is not going to work. it sounds like Fiver was defending his territory, which is a completely natural and expected thing to happen. he finally has a loving home, with a wonderful woman who takes such great care of him (altho she always kinda smells like vinegar… not sure why?) so he is going to defend that from some other bun stepping in and trying to take it all away.

of course i might be reading more into this… but i might not.

No Beka I think you are spot on. I believe he has come to think of the bed as his territory, never mind that Mimzy used to cuddle on it with me first. But that’s okay. They will have their neutral territory, I am just not sure where exactly yet.

I do look forward to them finding some common ground, as I just can’t see how they can not eventually. What fun it will be when they can all be in one pen together and enjoy each others company.

Fiver was making me laugh last night, when I took out the veggie smacks (Mim & Pip totally hate them)…he came running up to me and almost grabbed the whole bag out of my hand and tried to devour it on the spot.

He is definitely showing a side of his personality that we did NOT see at the Petco. What I giggle about now is that my vet was cautioning me about him; “Oh don’t let him near either of your other two, he’s so little and sweet and they easily outweigh him by several pounds each… they’ll kill him!”

lolz…. my little 4 pound terror…. ^_^ Stands up for himself pretty well, doesn’t he?

That definitely would have scared me too – I’ve fallen into the same thing before, letting bunnies meet between the bars and hoping for lightening to strike and love at first sight to happen Unfortunately, I always get the same result you got!

Well I thought at first that would’ve happened too, but alas…. ~_~

Eh, my own fault for spoiling each one of my buns individually. *sigh* You think I would’ve learned with my teenagers!

*smacks lips* Hm…. I have a sudden craving for hard boiled eggs…. lolz
