Okay…I think this is more of my problem, and, I think I’m over reacting but…Bare with me!
I am finally getting a new cage setup for Sunny…the cube/shelve setup from walmart. Tiny iny problem..
I’m afraid LOL!
You see…this is how it is now,
Excuse my poor MS paint abilties..

I have a room thats literally about 5 ft. from mine, connected by my room door. Sunny has been in my room (see the cage part on the diagram thing) for a good year or so. I’m afraid that she has gotten so used to a tv on at night, people around her ect., that she’ll feel alone in there at night. I wouldn’t be so upset if she had another bunny friend but..thats another story for another time
.
And also..I’m used to seeing a little bunny face looking at me when I wake up!
Any suggestions?! Lol, I know I sound so immature right now, but it’s true! I don’t want her to feel bad.
Hi Frankki, I can relate. I think I’d miss her too if I’d had her close for so long. So is the new condo going to be across the way because there is not space in your room for it? Perhaps there is a condo design that would fit, or you can remove something else over to that space instead? I’m not quite clear…in the diagram is the new area to be across a hallway or up into the attic area?

Well, I WOULD have it inbetween the foot of my sisters room and the tv, but the diagram isn’t that good as models go. There’s literally about 2 ft between the two, and it would be hard to get into the dresser under my tv, seeing the tv, etc. Ehh I’m at a loss here.
Can you revamp/rearrange the whole room to make it easier to fit a large condo, or is it possible to move the computer or dressers to the room across the hall and make a separate study/dressing area (you’d almost have a little apartment!) and just have beds, cage, and tv in that room? Also, you can build up rather than out when you do a NIC condo. As long as the foot print of the condo is 2 by 3 grids, you can make it 3 or 4 stories high and that would give her plenty of room. Ordinarily it wouldn’t be a big deal having her in another room, but since she’s a single bun, I would rather see you keep her close so she gets enough interaction.

I would move the computer/dresser into the room across, but, it has no outlets. In order for my computer to work, we’d need extension cords, cables, etc., and that would be too much. I do know we’ve had our room rearranged before and there was ALOT of room, but I need to remember how we did it.
Anyone suggestions on the rearrangement would be nice, LOL
.
Sooo I talked to my mom, said she’d help me rearrange things soon. So glad Sunny will have more room, but, still at a loss of exactly HOW to move it.
I was thinking of putting the dresser thats next to my computer (for got to draw that) somewhere, but don’t know where. Move the computer closer to my bed, and move my sisters bed along the wall the computer would be on.
I recall seeing a L shaped condo on this site before (will see if I can track down pic). I was really impressed at how much space it seemed to save. Something like that may allow you to put a condo in a corner and a desk in front of it maybe.
Oohh thank you jerseygirl, it would help tons! I would probably be able to make some sort of remake.
Good news! Oddly enough my sister had this wacky idea to move her bed INTO the room next to ours. Now I have a ton of room for Sunny’s cage-we’ll be getting the cube setups on Wednesday
.
Woot! I couldn’t find that pic so I found L shape shelving picture and was going to describe it that way. No need now because you can build Sunny a mansion. You might be able to make a pen with the cube panels. It would be really easy to clean that way. Though this won’t work if she’s a jumper.
Yay for your sister! ![]()
Well, I hadn’t figured on that… but as long as it works out for everyone! Let us know how the construction goes!

Yeah, she’s a jumper alright
.
Question! I was wondering if I should build a long spread out cage, or build up? I’m not sure. Does it depend on the bunny? Because knowing Sunny I think she’d like levels, she’s always jumping on beds and couches. I think besides a long one, building up with (besides the base) about 2 levels would be easiset. Nothing to fancy. Sunny’s spoiled enough, and I’ve been putting alot of planning into this.
Also…any suggestions on what to use for the base/level supports? I’ve heard wood w/vinyl covers, etc.
You still want to have room for YOU in your room! I would suggest building 3 levels. The base of the condo should be 2 x 3 cubes AT THE SMALLEST, but bigger is always better. With a large breed bun like that, you could even go 3 x 4 grids for the base and then a couple levels. In the meantime, work on bunny-proofing the rest of the room, this way she can have free-range when you are home.
