I think spooky may have scratched his eye while he was on his medicine, after being neutered the other day. There is blood in the whites of one of his eyes. He is acting perfectly fine though, and has been eating more since I last posted. I called the emergency vet but they told me to keep a close eye on him and to call the vet that neutered him on monday.

Anyone else experienced a scratch to the eye before?

Monkey had a scratch on each of her eyes at one point, due to the little dork running full speed through the vertical blinds, then stopping to let them smack her in the face.

Eye wounds like that can’t heal on their own, and need medication to keep it from ulcerating and causing alot of damage. I would suggest an appointment with your vet on monday.

Noot had an ulcer on his eye-like monkey said they won’t heal on their own. It’s fairly easy for the vet to check (they did a dye test) and then it was just eye drops to heal it, with a full recovery in less then two weeks. Keep us posted!

We went today, he was such a good bunny! He got all checked out and got some drops. He didn’t scratch his cornea, just his third eye lid. So they gave him some drops while we were there and they are going to let the rest heal on its own. They also gave him some anti inflammatory from his neuter (since the other vet I tried out didn’t give it to him). But good news was that this new vet said that the neuter was great and he was doing fine!

They cut his nails for me too, since I can’t seem to get Spooks to settle down enough to let me do it.

Every time I take him to the vet, they talk so much about how great he is and how special he is. Its makes me such a proud momma He just calms right down and lets everyone do whatever they need to do to him. Its amazing considering how wild he has gotten with his age!
