        Hello-

Boo is a 1-year old female ND. She is ready to be fixed, but nowadays, she scratches at two of the cage corners, tips over food, moves the bedding out of the way, and pisses everywhere. There is a older male in the cage, but he is fixed. They get along fine. What do I do? She is damaging the bottom of the cage!!!  Any thoughts?

          Welcome,
I’d make the appointment to get her fixed as soon as possible. She’s ready.
Also, we love pictures (hint hint).

also sounds like she needs lots of ‘projects’ to keep her busy.  does she have toys in her cage?  shredding paper is a great hobby for a diggy bunny.  a phone book or the sports section works in my house.

              welcome here!

yes, she is ready to be fixed. will you be doing this soon?

how much out-of-cage time does she get to run around each day? it’s recommended that rabbits get at least 4 hours per day (&/or 30 hours a week) out of their cage in a bunny-proofed, supervised setting. is she getting this? this is necessary regardless of how large the cage is. when my rabbit digs in her cage it’s b/c she wants out. that’s my first thought. Meadow knows what time she comes out in the morning, and if i miss it by a half hour, she goes nuts.

and my second thought is boredom. what kind of toys does she have? does she have throwing, digging, CHEWING, shredding items?

Oh yea, she is bored! Toys & Pla time make a huge difference.

How big is the cage? Maybe she is feeling cramper?
