I can’t remember what I put in the other thread so forgive me if some of these are duplicates!  It’s also a fair number of pics so… sorry about that!

I decided to do something with the windows this year, so I did up “windowkins”.  They’re actually pretty easy to do – these ones are just posterboard and tissue paper.

Then  I was worried about the front lights on the house drowning out the pumpkins, so I decided to make some light covers for them to try and keep in the Halloween theme but also keep the light from spreading out too much.  The neighbour thought they were really cool and wanted to know where I bought them (!).  Again they’re just posterboard.

And now, the pumpkins!  People really seemed to like them, so that was nice to see.  The most popular ones seemed to be the Tut and the Indiana Jones.  Yes, I started polling people about it whenever they’d make a comment on them.  And I had one little guy come dressed as Indiana Jones, so he really loved that one.

And finally this is me, with the “oh thank heavens another year is over!” look combined with the “now can I have dinner, and maybe a nice strong drink to go with it” look.

I did NOT dress the buns up.  I thought about trying to do something with the dog but she was too excited with everyone coming to the door, I actually had to put her in the bathroom because she was scaring the kids.  She wasn’t snarlling or anything, just bouncing up and down and barking.  And there was no way the cats were going to let me dress them up!  Although frankly I think I would have had an easier time dressing up the cats than the bunnies.  Although Bailey might have put up with it.  Hmmmm….. maybe next year….

woah – those are amazing! I wouldn’t even know how to go about doing that! I just showed my husband and reminded him about his last pumpkin that he carved…he tried to be creative but didn’t think it all the way through and ended up just cutting a giant hole out of the front (a kind of lopsided football shaped giant hole….)

Ever thought about taking orders next year? You could turn your talent into a business! Seriously. I work for a construction company that specializes in custom luxury trophy homes. Our clients hire Christmas decorating services for their fancy yards. Why not offer Halloween decorating?

I’m on a pumpkin forum where several of the members carve the fake pumpkins and take orders for them, they seem to have quite a good business with it. I absolutely hate carving the fake ones, I’ve done 2 and I’m hoping not to do any more. So that means I’m working with real pumpkins, and they have kind of a short lifespan so there’s a limited number that I can do. But it’s definitely something to keep in mind!
