Toki has a small mat just below his scent glands.  The mat is only size of a bead but I dont know how to get it out.

I dont want to use a brush because I dont have a brush that’s small enough. I tried baby oil but didn’t work. I need something thatls quick and easy because he’s not very patient with this stuff.

          Try cutting it out.

Yeh, be very careful cutting it though, make sure there is no skin trapped in the mat!

If you ever use scissors on your bunny- do yourself a favor and do it WHEN YOUR VET IS OPEN.  Emergency fees are expensive it you need to be seen after hours.  Do you have a pair of clippers?  Maybe your vet could clip it off for you?  If you get it done at time of nail trim they might just charge you a couple of bucks or nothing at all.  Just an idea.  I know that clippers can be scary to bunny – but they don’t cut the skin and could remove problem fur in an instant or 2.

I agree. I would be very careful cutting a mat that small near the scent glands. Honestly, I applaud all owners who express their rabbits scent glands, cuz I can’t do it! I would rather pay HRS or my vet to do it. I can just now clip nails with causing more stress to me than my rabbits.

Pease do not use baby oil, it is not good for a rabbit to be ingesting. From the sound of it nail clippers would be your safest bet since it is a small knot.
