  I have a 6 month old lionhead bunny. I just got her from craigslist. Along with a nice large cage and lots of accessories.
  
  I currently have the cage in my room but last night was awful!! I was told by the owner that Rayne is scared of the dark….honestly I plugged in a nightlight and decided that was enough…I mean what was I gonna do leave my room light on all night.
  
  But all night she just kept running circles in her cage and scratching at the walls and pretty much going crazy. Then I flipped on the light and went to use the restroom and i came back and she’s just laying down in her cage and lets out a big yawn. As soon as i turned out the light and layed down again she proceeded to get up and run circles around her cage.
  
  Is there anything I can do to ease her out of this fear? Or should I just start looking for a new room for her cage (Which could be difficult since we don’t have an 2nd floor or basement and already have 7 people in the family at home)? She didn’t hurt herself or do anything dangerous, she just got all hyped up and wouldn’t settle down until the light was on.
  
  Any suggestions would be helpful, she’s a loving little girl and soft and cute as ever. I’ve never had an ‘indoor’ bunny before so I’ve never come across this problem.

  She sounds like she is doing typical bunny stuff.. rabbits are really active a night, and love to do zooms and binkies! It expresses their happiness and joy!
  
  Also, what are her cage dimensions? Pet store cages/hutches are too small for even dwarf rabbits.

  My buns do the same thing. I can turn the light out at 9pm or 2am and as soon as I turn it out, Penelope and Thumper are like, “Oh, mommy’s trying to sleep, PLAY TIME!”. But it sounds to me like your baby is just being a typical bunny

  Unless she’s showing signs of stress, sounds like just playing. Rabbits are really active at night. It’s really not best to keep them in your room when you are trying to sleep.

  Alright thanks! I tried putting her in a smaller cage in the bathroom for the night and then putting her back in the morning. That worked fine.
  Do you think that’s okay? The ‘smaller’ cage is still quite large and has plenty of room for her to jump and play.
