        Hello everyone,

We had our 9 month old lionhead boy neutered 4 weeks ago and since the surgery he has been doing fine(eating and drinking). We picked him up today and noticed these two hard black spots down near where the incision would have been. We are worried on what this could be/ is it a scab and will go away on it’s own or will we need to take him back to the vet? Images below.

        Thanks,
        Brian

It does look like scabs. The first one looks good to me, but the second one could perhaps have a pocket of pus under it. When you feel it (with very clean hands of course), do you feel something that could be a lump underneath/ around it? Does the rabbit show any pain rection when you touch the areas near the scabs?

If there is pus, the pocket should be opened and flushed out and the wound be kept open and antibiotics be given. Rabbit pus is very thick and as a rule will never drain of its own. Could you send the pics to the vet that did the neuter?
