I’m leaving today to go to the cities (for those of you who don’t know, here in Minnesota that means the twin cities–Minneapolis/St. Paul area) to get Boston spayed! Her appointment is at 9 AM tomorrow so we are getting a hotel room tonight so we don’t have to drive in the morning. We’re gonna let her run around in the bathroom tonight, so she’s not all caged up for too long.

So wish us luck!!!!! They are gonna be doing extra blood work, etc. because of her head tilt from before, so hopefully everything goes well!

yay Boston! make sure to get pain meds from the vet for afterwards. it seems everytime folks don’t get them, they end up needing to go back b/c the girls are in too much pain! even if they give a pain injection there, get meds just in case.

          ^^^i love hotels… lol.

oh yeah, and of course make sure to bring her salad and hay with you so she can eat a good meal beforehand!

It sounds like Boston will be in good hands since the vet cares enough to take extra precautions!

(If it was me- I bet I would end up letting the bunny run around the room…at least for awhile).

Thanks everyone! The spay went without a hitch! Her incision looks amazing! I wouldn’t have guessed she just had surgery yesterday! She wants to run and play sooooo bad, but the vet said to keep her caged up a few days so she doesn’t tear it open. She hasn’t been trying to lick it or anything. And when we went to get her, she meatloafed up right away, ready for her long awaited pets!

They did the surgery Wednesday morning about 10 AM and it took till Thursday at 1PM for her to poop, but when she did, WOW. Lots of em. And its a long drive home and the first thing she did was run to litter box to poop and pee! Good girl!

Boston loved the hotel room. We had all the cords (which is a lot, like 8 of them) set up on tables and night stands so she couldn’t chew, so yup, she got to run the whole thing until bed time. But she loved the bathroom too, cuz it had a long counter that stuck out so she felt safe under the sink and counter area. And for the first time in forever we actually got to enjoy a hotel room! Your vibes worked! Usually when we stay somewhere its rush here and rush there. We got to sit in the hottub and go swimming, so that was fun!

Vet gave us pain meds and anitbiotics, so we should be good to go!

Thanks for all your vibes and thoughts! We, and Boston appreciate it!

One thing I’ve learned from this whole experience….the next bun-bun is coming spayed/nuetured from a shelter. I don’t like worrying about my baby for so long!!!!

Good to hear! Sounds like she was really well taken care of. By parents and vet.

i agree!!!  once you’ve been thru a spay or neuter once, that’s enough…

the greatest thing about us adopting Max was that he came ready to go… “no assembly required”!

LOL! Good point Beka! plus i don’t like feeling like she’s mad at me. I think she thinks she’s in trouble because she’s NEVER in her cage if we’re home and she’s stuck in there…..poor thing!!!

I am glad Boston did so well with the surgery! My three loved the hotel room when we took them on a trip, but good move on the cords! Curly Sue shredded the phone cord when we were not looking, and I had to run to Walmart to replace it before we checked out.

                                      Wow that hilarious Osprey!!!!
We made sure to put all the cords back when we left cuz there was some hay laying here and there that was too hard to pick up. I didn’t want the housekeepers to look at the cords, then see the hay and start putting things together!!

You know…i was thinking that. She is doing so well-eating, drinking, pooping–wants out to play. I’m just thinking, this is a cake walk for her after what she’s been through!!!
