Is there a alternative to sawdust for my buns. they live inside so not only does it get everywhere but its really playing with my asthma and have developed respiritory infection. Any advice would help (:

Are you talking about the woodstove pellets?

You could try aspen shavings or carefresh as well.

I would choose a pellet litter (pine or paper) or the carefresh if you are having allergies to the sawdust. I find my asthma starts if the bedding is dusty, shavings usually are IMO.

I wouldn’t recommend using loose sawdust. IMO, it’s way too dusty to be used as a bunny’s main litter.

Try using untreated wood stove pellets. They’re cheap ($5 for 40lbs seems to be the average price), cover up the pee smell very well, and aren’t as dusty as other litters. If you can’t find the wood stove pellets, Carefresh is a good litter too.

It gets quite cold here even inside, does this carefresh provide some warmth?

Yes, carefresh is basically just a paper bedding.

All 3 of my bunnies like their carefresh. Smudge and Monkey frequently just flop in their litterboxes, its cute

Carefresh is available at Pets at Home.

I used their cat litter http://www.petsathome.com/shop/lightweight…home-15259 and I thoroughly recommend it. It does come in smaller bags as well. If you want to choose a different cat litter please make sure it is not a clay or clumping litter
