Santa gave Leo & Jessica the bunny maze!  We built the 2 level for Christmas day.  Since I’m incrediably inpatient, I forced the rabbits into the maze immediately instead of letting them discover it on their own.  The cats got the added gift of playing Wack a Mole Bunny on christmas morning.   I currently have it attached to the front of their bunny condo and in between their napping they take a hop in the maze.

I was concerned that the cats would attempt to break into the maze, which 2 out of 4 have attempted.  I have a 5 lb cat and she fits in very easily, my 10 lb cat gets about half way in b/f we start yelling at him.

I just wanted to share my holiday excitement.  Thanks Binky for helping Santa find the perfect bunny gift.

isn’t is amazing?! be aware: you might never see your bunnies again. i swear i’ve seen Max and Meadow for a total of about 30 minutes in the past 6 months… they never leave it.

Beka:  That’s what I’m hoping for.  I think they’ve become overly possesive w/ their condo.  Leo seldom leaves the condo, even if Jessi comes out to do her hip hop.  I was hoping the maze would entice them to come out more often.  I kinda feel like a bad bunny mama b/c they seem to prefer to hang out in their condo, even though they have access to the outside most of the time.

I’m a bit concerned that the maze is kinda dark?  I didn’t want to open up to many holes b/c well the cats.  Is that ok or will they need more light to explore their maze?

i only opened maybe half the holes. i opened all the “floor holes” and i turned it so the open holes are not lined up. i find that there’s enough light in there for them to move around in the day. at night i always turn the bunny room light on, so tlight still shines in. i think the dark, “den-like” quality of it makes it very appealing.

Rabbits are naturaly active during the day and at night, so a rabbit can see in the dark. I wouldn’t think they would have any problems navigating the maze in the dark.

My girls are most active at night when it’s pitch black, I am sure they can see otherwise they would constantly be running into things when they do their bunny 100’s.
