Last night I got home @ 7:30 after working on the exhibit all day and was pretty exhausted, but it was our first day in the new apt. and I had to leave her alone while I was gone. We both gobbled our dinner and then I set up a play space. I have a short hallway to the bedroom/bathroom, so closed those doors, put a NIC fence at the other end, put a litter pan on a seagrass matte, and added her new tunnel and hay ball toy. Scooped her into it and sat myself by the fence.

Did she have a great time!!! She ran, she explored, she went around and through the tube. Then she got a routine where she hopped behind the tube on one side, then did these huge binkies popping out around the other side. She was airborne. She twisted and turned. She didn’t do bunny 500s, but she kept bouncing up into the air.

AND SHE CAME WHEN I CALLED “SAMANTHA COME HERE”!!!! She knows her name. She was at the farthest end from me at least 3 times, and when I called she ran straight to me. So that’s it. Samantha is DEFINITELY her name.

(Oh, and only you guys would appreciate this. I saw her hesitate, then she found the litter pan and went in it like a good girl. Not a single stray poo or pee.)

She flopped eventually, so it was bunny bedtime. I flopped too.

aw! i wish Boston would understand her name! and i’m jealous of all the binkies…..i don’t think Boston really has room for all the running and binkies in our apt.
            What a good girl!!!!

That is SO sweet! *wipes a tear of joy* You two were meant for each other, there is no doubt! ^_^

Aren’t those first playtimes so precious? I can remember Mimzy when he first came home, he lived in an outdoor shed while I wheedled his case for indoor bunny to my hubby. He would get an ‘elevator ride’ in his vet carrier to the ground floor and I’d let him out; he’d explore for a few and then ZOOM! He’d get so much speed, the air he would get on a binky had me worried he’d go right over the fencing. But he’d just trun and zoom back in as fast as he could and skid to a stop. It was hilarious, as I’d never seen a bunny do anything like that…heck I’d never seena bunny do anything period! ^_^

That’s beautiful, she sounds so happy. So do you!

I hope you can take some video footage of her. My happiest times are watching footage of Layla 1st play and Charlie’s exploration of our apartment when he was a baby. Its a wonderful thing to look back on!

She’s discovered that there’s more to the apt. than just a fenced off hallway. She explored “her” room a little last night, found the space outside the door before I set up the hallway again. So she played there more. This morning she was barely interested in breakfast – she wanted OUT!!!

So, I let her run around a bit. Wow, talk about binkies! She’s like a kangaroo, and MM she changes direction in midair to come back again. She had a great run and is now still ignoring most of breakfast because she is sooooooo tired. Wait – I hear munching…

Thanks for the suggestion of video, C&C. I fished it out of a box and will try to catch her on it tonight. I’m guessing she’s going to binky more…

Oh yes! I saw Mimzy do one of those mid air spins too! I was too stunned to react.
Although Fiver can do hairpin turns and Pip is more of a one-lane-one-way road zoomer. Mimzy is the only one who, when extremely happy, will make the mid-air flip.
Ooo…I can’t wait for vids! ^_^ Little Sambly-wambly sounds like she’s off to find some trouble though! ^_^

Just tell her to watch where she pokes her nose. (My constant epithet to Fiver, curious little bugger!)
