No rabbits do not need these. They will get all the minerals they need through a balanced diet.

They don’t need them, but they aren’t harmful (unless the rabbit is bored-they may like out of boredom) I do provide them-most herbivores need salt and use as needed -ex. cows, sheep ->horses especially because they are so similar to rabbits.

They are only about 50c so I just give them. I have seen them use them on occaision. Especially if a rabbit is on a restricted pellet diet (not restricted as in not free fed, but as in not many pellets at all) they should have access to salt.

I’m with KK on that one. If you, like myself, limit pellets, they may need/like some extra salt. Deirdra loves her salt, licks the salt wheel everyday. It’s hers.
I did have a guinea pig once who abused the salt. She would bite off chunks and eat them, then drink an entire bottle of water and pee up her cage . It was a boredom vice.

Like Petzy mentioned, you have to make sure the bun has plenty of water all the time if you do give a salt lick. I don’t use them with my buns but I feel they get an adequate and balanced diet, with lots of variety.

I haven’t used any with Samantha, but Spockie LOVED them. He liked the flavored ones they sell as well. (carrot, apple, celery)
