  Little Bob one of my bunnies that I posted about earlier this evening died a few hours ago. We took him to an emergency vet and they said he had an undetermined bacterial infection and a high fever. They gave him an injection and sent us home telling us to follow up with our regular vet in the morning. He died two hours later. Little Bob was four years old. We will miss him so much. This is the second death of a pet we have had in a week. We lost a little guinea pig one week ago yesterday. So this death was an especially hard blow. It came so fast and so unexpected. We are going to call the vet as soon as they open to see if they can tell us what happened to Bobby. The emergency vet seemed to be at a loss when we called and told him Bobby had died. Rest in peace our dear one.

  I am so sorry. It is so hard to lose your loved ones, especially two.
  
  It sounds like the infection may have spread from your pig to Bob. I doubt it is a coincidence.
  I would ask the vet whether the others are at risk, and possibly take them in if there is anything preventative you can do now.
  They will be sad and missing him too.

  awe that is real hard sorry for the loses. yes I would take the others in too just in case. catch this early if they have it. awe. I am sad.

  Just as a preventative measure, you talk to your vet, to see if there’s a chance that it might possibly be contagious?

  aw that is awful im really sorry to hear that, i am just wondering if you should get tests done because it may be related between the guniea pig and your bun? really sorry and im sending some ((((vibes)))) your way!

  Oh dear this is very sad. I am sorry for the loss of both pets. Perhaps the guinea pig and rabbit infected one another?
