        Hi,

It’s spring in North Carolina. Pollen is everywhere. I’ve been sneezing my head off.

Buddy, my rabbit, has been outside for a couple of hours this morning on my deck. I brought him back in a few minutes ago and I noticed his nose is running a bit. He seems fine and did his happy to be indoors dance.

Can bunnies get allergies? He’s eating and other than the runny nose seems great. He was fine before going outside.

        Thanks in advance!

im not sure, i know they arent surpose to like dust from hay or litter or whatever, so it is possible, maybe its just the change from hot indoors to cold outdoors?

i’m not sure if they can have allergies to pollen, but maybe. you may want to keep him inside during the high allergy season just in case. i’d say if the runny nose doesn’t clear up by monday, or you notice more discharge, you should consider taking him to the vet.

oh you know if it is hot outside and bun is breathing hard that can make the noise  look a little wet too. I notice they do that especially when I am riding feda to the vet on my 3 wheel.

Yes rabbits can have allergies (even to pollen), Daffodil does and it is something I have to be careful about with her. She mostly stays inside with an air purifier by the cage. I would keep an eye on it and if it continues, I would consult your vet as he might be sick and need meds.

Thanks for the info. By last night Buddy seemed to be back to normal. We had a rain shower as well that helped clear the air. I’ll keep him in more, but he won’t be happy about that. He loves to play outdoors.
