Ok the last couple of days have been strange.  Anya went from cute and cuddley to freaking and scared and I have no clue what happened.  Just now she and Bugz where in a floopies pile in the middle of the room and I stood up to streach my legs and she freaked and ran to hide and started thumping, bugz looked at me looked to where she hid rolled over and went back to sleep.  I have tried to tempt her with food and treats but she will not have a bar of it.  If I manage to get her on my lap she freaks and throws herself around so hard that i think she is going to break something.  I am not sure what happened or what i need to do to get her to like me again.  The only change in her life has been that she and Bugz where bonded and now share a cage and she does seem to love him and when she is not hiding from me she is all over him.  i am confused and trying not to let it hurt my feelings but feeling really upset that I have done something to annoy her.

It’s possible you’ve done something different, like started wearing a new perfume or lotion (you smell different) or changed your silhouette. Like a hairstyle or outfit so when you stand up you don’t look like you. Believe it or not, a bunny will partly recognize you by your outline, so you can freak them out with a hat.
Also sudden movements can startle. Is she hormonal now? If she’s after him a lot it sounds like she is.

Another thing to be aware of is if there’s a noise outside that you don’t notice that bothers her. Like a neighbor gets a new dog that barks. Listen carefully. He may not care but she may be scared.
Or she’s just really pissed off at you and you won’t be OK until you feed her massive quantities of treats for days on end until Her Majesty accepts you again.

Thanks Rabbit Pam, the only thing I can think that has really changed as I have added a fan to her room as we are up over 30 degrees every day this week and the air con has also been running, it’s a constant hum/fan noise maybe she does not like that? I guess I will just keep the treats up to her and go from there.

It may be the bond. Once Gracie got her man bun, she does not want to much to do with me anymore. That might just be it. In my case I have a single bun who is still my cuddly bunny and I’m just glad that my girl Gracie found a boy bun that makes her happy and the two of them only need me for cleaning and food basically and that’s fine with me..

This might be crazy, but I thought of the fear period that most young animals go through. Puppies have it, human babies have it, so why not bunnies? Basically it’s a time when everything seems super scary and things they were previously ok with seem like monsters coming to get them. Hopefully this is the case and she’ll just grow out of it with time.

She is getting better, now once you have her she settles but does not want to be held or patted, so pretty much taking her lead from Bugz as he is the same as that. However was laying on the floor watching my dvd player and both ended up laying on my back so it seems the more I ignore them the more they want to be with me

I wonder too-if you were cooking recently? When we cook (blue moon happens-we cook lol) Rupert is more ‘flightly’ for a day or two after.

                    Glad she’s better though!
