My bunny only flops when he’s really mad. For example, last night he managed to get up into our attic by crawling under a door I usually keep blocked, but had un-blocked for a few minutes and then he snuck under and up the stairs! There was no way that I was going to get him out of there by calling him or shooing him, so I was forced to pick him up. Rocky HATES to be picked up. After I brought him downstairs and calmed him down (his breathing becomes scary-fast and I give him pets to try to calm him when that happens), I put him in the kitchen and closed the baby-gate. He went to his corner and flopped. Then he got up, went over to his food and flopped…
Does anybody else have a bunny that flops only when stressed out? I’m really curious to know!
Rocky is a bit dramatic isn’t he!
He is! He takes after his mommy! ![]()
He pouts! “you get the silent treatment”!
OH yes they flop like that. HE is trying to say hmpf I am more comfy than you are and happier than you. Sometimes that is what an angry flop is all about.
Like when you try to bond 2 and they try to out flop each other.
LOL Dramatic bunny!
Actually I find that Rupert (Also a drama queen-he once screamed at me during a bum bath!!!) will flop after getting mad, but I think he’s just resting off the exertion of being stressed/mad at me. I get foot flick foot foot flick flop ![]()
LOL That is too cute. My Calypso is a drama queen, as well, although he prefers to express himself through an eloquent grunt. If he gets mad at me, he’ll drive the point home that he hasn’t forgiven me, but I should be lucky that he is deigning to let me touch him by coming over for pets, flopping and grunting to show his displeasure with the human who doesn’t know the rules. lol.
Brats all of them just brats. Awe what are furchildren for. Ruby is good with her foot flicks or her thumps. Her Highness there I hold her and pet her a little too long b4 letting her play for the day on the bathroom floor. What do I get a Thump.
Hmpf
Thanks everybody! I do remember reading that bunnys will flop to prove that they are happier than you or another bunny, but I guess I forgot about it. I definately get the foot flicks from him, too. Rocky only thumps at my boyfriend (and I’ve never seen him thump so I’m not 100% sure that he does, but I don’t think DBF would make it up)! Rocky’s mad flops are so funny though, I go through all these emotions when he does it, first I want to laugh, then I feel bad for him, then I feel guilty for giggling, then I want to go give him pets to calm him down but don’t want to ‘disturb his stretch’.
Rocky hasn’t grunted or made any vocal noises yet that I’ve heard. I’ve seen video of a bunny grunting when it plays and it was so cute! I can’t imagine what a bunny scream sounds like, I’ll bet it’s heartbreaking! These bunnies sure have all of us right where they want us!
i know our bun does his fair share of mad flops, but he mostly does happy ones. after lots of zooming around and binkies, he’ll often dramatically flop by rolling halfway on his back and flinging his ears around to show his complete and utter contentment.
what furry little drama queens they all are..![]()
Rocky looks so much like Sammy that I wonder if they have similar traits. She hates, hates hates being picked up, and I wondered how you “picked him up anyway” because I just can’t catch her. She also flops after every main meal. Maybe the eyeliner bunnies look like Divas because they ARE. They should come with a warning: This bunny will be moody and fall over a lot.

ROFLMAO
OMG too funny!
Bella has not done the mad flop yet, but I am sure it is coming! She did thump at me this morning after she was in the kitchen for an hour doing some exploring and getting exercise. I have already created a monster, but I still love her!! ![]()
RabbitPam,
I have to back him into a corner to get him… he was in our attic, by a really low corner so I had to lay down and just snatch him… He was facing me so I had to grab him by the middle and then flip him around to grab his feet cuz he’s a kicker and I know he could kick so hard that he could break his back… It really sucked because I was trying to keep one hand over his feet, one hand over his eyes, and then I needed another arm to hold on to the railing to go down the stairs!!! I have a question for you, does your eye-liner bunny binky like crazy when happy? Rocky will do a string of 4 or 5 sideways binky’s in a row that are just so funny to watch!!!
I should have named him ‘Drama’ like that character on Entourage!
Yes, she binkied A LOT several months ago, but now that she’s a mature, one year old she, well, still binkies!
The other night I was lying on the floor watching TV and a bunny flew by me. She had jumped just to my left so was air borne when she went past my eyes. She’s been really cute and affectionate this week. I was standing next to the coffee table this morning and felt someone licking my foot. She was under the table giving me kisses. I like a good grooming with my coffee LOL.
Haha, the mad flop, my bunny just flicks her feet when she is angry, Thistle just runs away, no feet flick. Fern growls when she doesn’t want someone to leave, for example I pet her and then I get up and walk away she runs at me and growls, it is so funny, its like shes saying, “don’t you dare leave!”
