My vet suggested I flea treat my buns with Revolution ( I thought I’d start a new thread on Revolution). She said she used to prescribe Advantage but now Revolution is the best one. Anyone ever use it on their buns? I’m very, very worried about them getting sick from it because I know it’s never been tested for rabbits. I’m going to pick up the stuff tommorow and hopefully get to talk to the vet about it. She asked me the weights of all my buns and said she would prepare special doses for them according to their weights.

I have used Advantage before, but not Revolution. Your vet does sound pretty knowledgeable, and I’m sure she knows more than I do about the treatment. I would make sure to get the Revolution between their shoulder blades so that the bunny can’t get to it to lick it off…but other than that I generally lean towards following the recommendation of vets, (granted they are bunny savvy vets). You might want to get a bit more information on why Revolution is better, because Advantage worked fine for me, but there might be a reason she prefers Revolution. I would be interested to know why as well.

yes, I have used both. Revolution is supposed to be better if you are treating a dual issue of fleas and mites. I do know that the reason there is caution is because both Advantage and Revolution can be used on rabbits, but that it’s very very important that a vet recommend the dosage which may or may not be different than what the packaged instructions say. With mine, I get either Advantage or Revolution and always follow my vets directions over the package. And that sounds exactly like what you are doing so I’d say it’s fine.
