  I’ve mentioned a few times that Quincy often poops on my bed if I let him get up there, even though he’s neutered and otherwise perfectly litter trained. He is *still* doing this and I don’t how to interpret it, much less stop it.
  
  He knows the bed is mine. He can smell me on it and I see him watching me sleep there at night (and I live in a studio, so I can’t hide it). Does marking my territory as his mean he doesn’t like/respect me? Until it happens I think we are getting along. He is not very affectionate but he does lots of binkies for me and is not afraid to climb all over me.
  
  I was especially insulted tonight because I was reading on my bed, and thought it would be nice if I allowed him to stay if he jumped up. He would explore for a while, jump down and run around the room, and repeat. But toward the end he started pooping next to me!
  
  Am I worrying to much about this?
  
  (And in the same vein, should I be flattered when I see him licking my pillow?)

  You think it’s YOUR territory? Well he thinks it’s HIS territory. He’s marking your bed as his!!!! Edson has never ever marked but everything I have read says this is what this means!!! Good luck!

  Haha, yeah, I get that he thinks it’s his. I just don’t know how to take it, since he doesn’t mark anything else. I suppose he could think he’s my boss but still like me…

  I was reading some forums here. And if you don’t want him to go up there try spraying some purfume there.

  can you construct a barrier around the bed with an xpen while you are in it, and when you’re not cover with a waterproof shower curtain?

  Unfortunately they will mark with their poops … particularly in places where they are not allowed to go, but they don’t know that .

  He sees you there and wants it-I mean come on, cushy bed? Bunny heaven!
  
  The only thing, likely, to do would be to not allow him up there at all. Then you could try again in a few weeks. Just push him off when he jumps up and tell him no.
  
  Likely once he understands it’s your territory he *might* stop pooping up there. Might. Others might have some good suggestions…I think we’ve all had our beds pooped on though Lucky it’s not pee right?

  I can see why he’d like the bed so much. Since it doubles as a couch it’s the only soft seating I have. Maybe I’m just too uptight. 🙂
  
  I’ll pick up a cheap shower curtain next time I’m out. That’s a good idea. I’ve tried just shooing him off but he’ll be back on as soon as I turn around (it’s probably a game), and it’s not practical if I’m multitasking.
  
  And Kokaneeandkahlua, it WAS pee once. I think he was really ticked off that night though, because I did a deep cleaning of his cage earlier.

  Hnn…I don’t know about the shower cutain, guys. The bun could ingest it. HUGE trouble..

  That’s a good point! Good thing I forgot to pick one up today…
  
  He was pretty good tonight. Only found two doots from the whole time he sat up there with me. I still let him up there because I’m hoping it will lead to him being more cuddly.

  i don’t think the bun would eat the shower curtain any more than any other fabric, but if you were worried you could lay it down and then put a blanket over the top, so if there is any pee, it would not soak thru.

  I read somewhere that to stop a bunny from marking something you could take a towel, rub it all over your rabbit and than rub it on the bed. It makes bed smell like the bunny so the bunny thinks it is his, and since he feels it already smells like him he does not feel the need to mark it. You could also do something similar with the hair that he sheds, rub the hait on the bed…

  Anyway. Binkles never really had any trouble with marking. She would, however, almost daily leave only one or two poopies -neatly placed either smack in the middle of my bed, underneath the covers, or underneath my pillow. Just to kind of say, “Hello Mommy. Just reminding you that this is mine, but I’ll let you sleep on it -that’s how much I love you.”
