I just rescued a lionhead rabbit that has been kept outside for 12 months and has had no interation with humans.  She is doing much better, but I need to get her spayed as soon as possible.  I need to find a good vet in or around Appleton WI.  Any ideas are welcome.  I also meed to find a big play pen.  Any ideas where I can get one.  I would prefer to get one used. Thanks

Welcome bunmama and thank you so much for taking this bunny in!!  Would love to know more about her…

This is the House Rabbit Society recommended vet list for WI. I hope that can help. If none are close to you, perhaps give some a ring and see if they can recommend someone closer. http://www.wisconsinhrs.org/Recommended%20Vets.htm
For pens I’m not sure what’s best place to look. Maybe x-pens on craiglist, ebay? Or even on freecycle if you’re lucky. Goodluck!

Edit: This vet is listed under Association of Exotic Mammal Vet listing (rabbits can sometimes be classed as exotics – you will need to verify whether this vet is rabbit savvy though)

I just love lionheads.    What a lucky Lady Bun   cool.      You can find used stuff on craigs list      Or the local trader papers.

Oh we need pics of her.     There are xpens from pet stores you can use indoors as well.

There are also some reasonably priced nice Go-Go exercise pens at http://www.digitpets.com you can get inexpensively in a variety of heights through Amazon.com.  Some come with doors and all can be shaped in cube, rectangle, octagon, oval, or L-shaped.  I got one through them with a walk-through door that lets me be inside the pen with my bunny.  They also have add-on types which you can make larger if you want.  Be sure and check them out before you pay the same price or higher for less quality at the pet stores.

Is that link correct to digipets?  It takes me to those generic sites that act as a search engine.

Some people have had good luck finding cheap xpens from Craigslist so you might want to check your local listings.

Sorry, I had added an “s” that wasn’t supposed to be there. The site is: http://www.digitpet.com  Happy shopping!
