 osprey.
osprey.Camille is a tiny Dutch baby (less than a month old), that someone found in their back yard. She had been bitten in several places, part of her ear was torn off, and she had a terribly infected wound on her front leg that redered it useless. She came in on Saturday during one of our adoption shows. We have gotten her stabilized, and on meds for the infections and pain, and she had an hour long surgical procedure yesterday to remove infected tissue from her leg. We are hoping we can save the leg, and that she recovers fully.
You can read her story here, and see pictures therabbithaven.org/Camille_rescue_032507.html
I cry everytime I see one of these stories. It is just so sad things like this have to happen. I will pray and send good vibes for baby Camille.
*weeps* Oh the poor little thing!
I sent a little paypal contribution with my wishes. It’s not much, but every little bit helps
She’s still hanging in there. Come on Camille..you can make it!
*waves little pompoms*
Update from their website
"Camille is spending much of her time with her guardian angel, Linda. The tiny girl is fond of laying curled up against Linda’s neck and shoulders, and putting her sore leg up on Linda to keep it elevated. She often falls asleep in this position. She is eating really well now, taking hay and water on her own as well as continuing to be hand fed KMR. Camille has taken some tentative steps and tries to put weight on her bad leg for a few short steps. The leg remains very stiff and tender, but she is able to move it a little now, so we are hopeful that she will regain mobility in that leg. Linda continues to provide around the clock care for the little girl, but she is a fighter, and we are all hopeful that she will fully recover. Check back here for more updates."
Hey, I wrote that! Thanks for your continuing interest and your donation wendyzski. I am trying to get an update on the website every couple of days.
I’ve fallen in remote-love with little Camille. She’s providing a little distraction from my current bunny-bonding woes.
Camille’s foster mom and nurse is an occasional poster on BinkyBunny. Her handle is qzobevmama, and you can send her email through her BB profile here: https://www.binkybunny.com/FORUM/tabid/54/view/profile/uid/227/Default.aspx
I’ll bet she’s love to hear from you and can give you even more up to date informaiton about tiny Camille.
Camille continues to get better! I just updated her story on our website:
http://www.therabbithaven.org/Camille_rescue_032507.html
i’m linda, i’m camille’s human slave…ah, er…foster mama/nurse. she continues to heal slowly but surely. it’s a lot of work (and expensive!) but she is worth all of it. she has been so brave with all of the icky things i’ve had to do to help her heal (injections 3 times/day, now 2; warm packs; subq fluids, eye drops, flushing her wounds x2/day, physical therapy etc). she has been very good and now she’s at the point where she feels a lot better. i am still giving her bruprenex, which is an injectable narcotic pain medication, and that is keeping her comfortable. she hobbles around "tripod" style altho i do see her putting her right arm down now and then. she used to have her right wrist curled back on itself but i have been positioning it straight and now she pretty much keeps it straight all by herself. i am doing gentle range of motion with that arm. the muscles have atrophied some there which is to be expected, but i am determined that she will keep that limb and will regain as much function as possible. she may still have nerve damage but thank goodness it’s not total; she does feel in her paw and she can move it some. i was really afraid that her arm was dead when i first saw her — ychy ucky she looked really awful when she first came to us.
camille wants me to thank all of her aunties and uncles out in bunnyland for all your good wishes and healing energy. i have told her that she has lots of guardian angels and i know that is helping her to get well. special thank you to wendyzski for your contribution to camille’s medical fund, we are both very grateful to you for your generosity of spirit! as you know, camille was rescued by us, we are a nonprofit all volunteer organization and we do all our own fundraising so your financial gift means everything to this little bunny.
please do check out her progress on our website http://www.therabbithaven.org.
be well — linda 😎 and camille () ()

How is Camille doing?
She’s hanging in there. Up to 1.5 pounds now, still has seeping wounds in the shoulder, getting flushes twice a day, but she is using the paw. I should have an update either tonight or tomorrow, I’ll post when I do.
I’m so glad you posted – I’ve been checking the shelter page nearly every day and was getting worried that there weren’t any updates.
Hang in there little Camille! We’re rooting for you!
I was talking to her foster mom, Qzobevmama a few days ago and asked about Camille’ She’s been doing physical therapy with her and it’s improved to the point that Camille isn’t even favoring one paw over the other! 😉 Camille has been so lucky to have such wonderful nursing care, medical attention and all the healing throughts everyone has sent her way.
what a trooper. GO CAMILLE!!!!! beautiful with her cute and tiny paws. i know she will fully recover. looks like she is in the best of care anyone can possibly give. GO GO CAMILLE!!!!!! ::healing vibes:: ::love vibes::

I just got the word, little Camille was adopted last night!
That poor lil girl! She has done remarkably well in surviving that awful attack! God Bless her carer … she deserves a gold medal …. I am elated to hear that Camille has been adopted out …. she deserves so much love.
Dawn xx
THat’s WONDERFUL!
YEAH!!! YAHOOO!!!!
Camille and her new beau Yang spent the night with us on Tuesday so I could take her for her spay appointment on Wednesday. She’s HUGE now! Almost 5 pounds. She is fully healed, and the only sign of her attack is the little chunk of her ear that is still missing. She really is amazingly resilient.
Yay for Camille So exciting that this lil’ bunny that almost didn’t make it now has a happy life…yay to the Rabbit Haven too for saving her!
