Regressing litter training

I have bonded bunnies, a 3 year old female, Ravioli, and a 2.5 year old male, Louie. I adopted them from a shelter around a year ago. When I adopted them, the foster mom said they were both fully litter trained. Louie has never shown any issues with this. Ravi has never shown me she is litter trained. The day she came home, she immediately started pooping outside of the box. I haven’t been able to see any urine, so I hope that is going into the box. I have tried re-training where I physically put her in the box every 5-10 minutes, offering rewards for going into the box, etc… The pellets and water are only accessible when inside the box, but it seems that she still is going in to eat, and then poops once she is out of the box. They get all hay and veggies inside the box. She has been checked by her vet and they said there’s nothing wrong that they can tell. This problem has been going on for a year, and I want to hopefully resolve this soon. Please help me… please 

11/6: UPDATE. They were out playing last night while I took a nap. I found multiple spots of urine on a bath mat. That’s the only location I noticed it, but it was all over the carpet. I cleaned it up with 1/2 water 1/2 vinegar.

Hi Abbie

Does she have a tendency to pull hay out of the box and eat it while sitting next to it? A few of mine do that..
Have you tried upsizing the litter box or using 2 side by side? What type of litter do you use? Is it different to what they had in foster care? If so, is it possible she dislikes the feel of the litter? Are her hocks well padded with fur?

Occasionally she will take hay out, but more than anything, she takes the veggies out. Of the times I’ve seen, she will eat hay in the box, and pellets, because she has no way around that. I have large litter box, I got it from the cat section, but it’s probably around 15×20 inches, so pretty big. Both bunnies fit in it comfortably with space to spare. I am using equine pelletized bedding. That’s what was suggested to use by the shelter I adopted them from, so as far as I know that’s what the foster mom was using.

Hi! So I’ve actually been dealing with kind of the same issue aswell. My leo is litter box trained also, as I was told when I adopted him. I’ve seen him both poop and pee in his litter box when he is outside of his cage. But tonight while he was on the bed he peed twice. Both times I was petting him and he was relaxed enjoying the loving. This is the first time he’s ever not peed in his litter box and on my bed. So I’m not completely sure why he did that. He is my first bunny ever, so any advice would definitely help.
