I bought baxter a new bed like  the ones you can buy for a cat or small dog and i put it in his pen  and i put him in his pen so i could eat dinner and i look over and he jumps in it and i though ok , good hes checkin it out , then he turned around and stuck his tail up and i knew exactly what he did so i finished dinner and went to get it and throw it in the washing machine and his pee was orange and there was red bloches around the pee so i thought oh no and looked at him to see if he was bleeding and there was nothing around his area  or on his body that was bleeding so is it ok if they pee orange and red ?

Urine looks like that after it’s exposed to the air for a while. Also some rabbits have red, orange, even a brownish colour pee. The veggies they eat can change the colour too. Apparently, blood in the urine is not actually visible! Sounds like Baxter has marked his new bed!

Quantum’s peed orange since the day we brought her in and still does.  It’s nothing to worry about!

Oh yes don’t fret!! It gets colored by exposure to air, and also the plant chemicals they’ve been ingesting can change the color.

Watch for white pee, or pee with particulate matter/sludge. Otherwise color doesn’t matter

I think bunnies should come with a manual for sure but seriously that colored pee is shocking the first time we see it!

I tried to give Nixon one of those beds too.. he just considers it an extra litterbox.
So now it’s the dog’s favourite bed- this is a cat bed.. and a 15lb dog.. she doesn’t exactly fit. But she squeezes herself into it nonetheless. It’s a pretty funny sight actually.
