I was in the room with the Snowball, my female holland lop. When I come into the room she acts like a puppy and runs to the end of the cage and starts climbing the cage, which is normal…she’s excited to see me and the chance to get out of the cage. I walked into the room with a empty box and she acted her normal self, I started opening the box and messing with a plastic bag, I’ve messed with plastic bags on a regular basis along with playing music and it never seems to bother them. But as I was just opening the bag she thumped her foot….I thought to myself, thats odd, she hasn’t done that since I first got her and the visit back from the vet. I looked over at her and she scrambled around the pen trying to escape. I stood there for a sec a little puzzled, and she started running in circles around the pen. I walked to the pen and she started thumping her foot and ran to the corner of the pen. I reached out my hand and she let me pet her, I continued petting her and gave her a treat directly after(like I always do) and I turned and started to walk away and she ran up the edge of the pen trying to get my attention…What in the world caused her to act so crazy and just return like nothing happend…

well…now that I look she’s acting a little offish now…not a lot but I can tell she’s on high alert. Nothing has changed as far how I treat her and attention I give to her, she just went balistic one time and now she’s keeping like one eye on me at all times

Sometimes something can scare them, and not being rabbits’ ourselves, it’s hard for us to tell; strange noises, or even things we can detect can set them off. However they can also act off as a signal they are becoming ill. I’d keep a close eye on her, ensure she’s eating and pooping and see how she does.
If one of mine gets scared, Rupert in particular is scared of frying food, he’ll hide for almost a day frantically, so it can take a while for them to calm down. Just keep a close eye.
