        Hi guys

My rabbit was spayed over 5 nearly 6 weeks ago now and she is getting more and more aggressive. Alot of lunging, biting and flinching at the slightest move I make. She used to be so loving and friendly but now she’s really angry all the time. Well, at times she’s quite sweet but majority of the time not so much. I have tried everything and nothing is working. ☹️ Maybe her hormones are still flying or do you think there might be something more going on? I don’t know what to do, I feel like I’ve done the wrong thing getting her spayed. 😭 X

You did nothing wrong with getting her spayed! You were being a good rabbit mama and making sure that your girl did not get uterine cancer, hormonal, False pregnancies, and much more! I understand your confusion and frustration. Although, I think that hormones shouldn’t be floating around at this point. Was she this hostile right after her spay? Does she seem to be in pain? Sometimes rabbits can get aggressive if they have an injury, but that may not be the case.

I am with you in this confusion, and hopefully, someone else might know what it is, will respond.

Sending you strength and a big hug! You can get through this! 🙂

My money is on hormones. Females can go through a post-spay craze that can occur quite a while after spaying. So I would say just hang in there! Did this just start or has it been like this since her spay?

But I agree it would be good to make sure she isn’t in some sort of pain. Can you also describe her set up a bit more? And is she aggressive at certain times or in certain places? I’m curious about whether she is acting defensively or “cage aggressive”, or just all around aggressive.
