        First they discontinue Papaya Tablets…

I took Lizzy to her new vet last week (we like him much better, so far!), and while I was paying for the visit, the receptionist took a phone call from another bunny owner whose rabbit refuses to eat anything but Critical Care, for some reason or another.  He was calling around to every vet in the area, because apparently Oxbow changed its formula for Critical Care, and it’s now grainier, and the rabbit wouldn’t eat the new formula, only the old one.  So he was frantically trying to get whatever of the old formula was left (only one packet, at that vet.)

Just FYI, in case it affects anyone.

i know someone posted awhile back that they’re changing all kinds of things. their website, products, locations where they’re carried… i’m sure if they are changing the CC, they’re doing it for the better and they must have some good reasoning behind it.

The CO-HRS shelter is out of the 500 containers of Papaya Tablets, but said they would be able to get them after the New Year.

Has Oxbow really discontinued them – or is that a rumor?

                  here’s the website… http://www.oxbowanimalhealth.com/

and here is the previous thread on the papaya tablets… https://www.binkybunny.com/FORUM/tabid/54/forumid/6/tpage/1/view/topic/postid/78085/Default.aspx#78085

it looks like they have some new products, or at least ones i have not heard of before…

they have a new organic line of food, hay, and litter… called “Bene Terra”

“Carnivore Care”, it seems like that’s a critical care but made for carnivores like ferrets.

CC and a CC “Fine Grind” (maybe this was the issue then, the guy could not locate the fine grind?)

“FibRevive”… another form of CC but for nourishing “beneficial bacteria”…?

they might have had this stuff before but maybe i never noticed it on their old website?

interesting… the store locator shows ten stores within ten miles of me who are carrying oxbow…

and 4 vets within ten miles of me…

if you have not looked recently for oxbow products, you may want to do another search and see if there are more locations in your area… go to CONTACT > FIND OXBOW PRODUCTS.

I know they repackaged the Critical Care but didn’t realize they reformulated it…I can understand wanting to make improvements. Didn’t realize they had regular CC now and fine grind so it’s possible the vets are aware of this either.

He can always make his own pelleted slurry or get a coffee grinder to grind the CC further…

I thought they were just discontinuing Critter Berries? 0_o

I haven’t had to use Critical Care yet, but I can only hope that whatever they do to it, my bunnies will eat it if they need it.
