  I am new to rabbits and am having a biting issue with one. I will let her into her play area outside of her cage and she will be very happy (and Binky). When I am in the cage she will seem fine with me there, run around, sprawl out, etc., but doesn’t want me petting her so I don’t push the issue.
  
  She will do little nips, but sometimes she will bite and draw blood. It’s not the standard aggressive stories I have heard though.
  
  For example, she was playing around me and I was just sitting watching. She just ran up and bite me hard on my knee and drew blood.
  
  Then tonight she was playing and came up, sniffed my hand and nipped it so I let out an “EEK.” She looked at me for a second and did it again so I “EEK’ed” and she looked at me. Then the third time she bit the heck out of my finger and drew blood. In fact, its still bleeding/throbbing and I am typing this with one hand.
  
  She doesn’t show any aggression when I deal with her cage (removing food bowl, water bottle, adding hay, etc.). She will sometimes just take a piece out of me. She is never cornered by me in the play area as I sit in the far end and she has free access to the other side and hep cage. The play area is probably 5 ft x 8 ft currently.

  She is spayed.
  
  The rescue said she is 6 – 8 months.

  You may just have an overly hyper bunny like mine… I have three and one of my boys has the same problem although he’s been getting better over time. What has really helped with him is not just the immediate yell but also turning your back on him. My buns HATE being ignored (as do most). I would try this and see what her reaction is. Turning your back on them is basically shunning them and showing them you don’t approve. Sounds simple but sometimes it’s the simplest solution that helps!

  there is a website called language of the lahamorphas,it tells you how to speak bunny, and what to do to speak bunny. It tells you how to deal with problems like this

  Daisy-Binky is right! I would suggest checking out the website she mentions just so you can use it to your advantage. The biting problem you’re describing though is accurately depicted on there and the solution is what I told you earlier about turning your back! So I would even more suggest it than before.

  I will give it a try. After last nights bite I am getting quite tense when she is approaching me now as she got me really hard.

  I know the feeling. My bun sometimes gets my boyfriend and I on edge with his hard chomps also. Give it a try and see what happens. The first time our bun kinda ignored us back but then when it kept happening he started to feel the pain of being “shunned” by us and stopped doing it so hard. Really nip it in the bud though and don’t even let him small chomp. We let one of our boys nibble but Tanger we can’t allow anything or he goes way too hard after a day or two.

  Our male bunny doesn’t nibble at all or try to escape the play area.
  
  The female is biting nibbling us and always trying to escape. Shes attempted some flying leaps over the wall.
  
  I guess we need to do it every time she nibbles us now.
