Hi everyone! My condo is getting tenting soon for termite fumigation. This is my first time going through this process. I was wondering if anyone has any words of wisdom about cleaning up prior to bringing my bunz back into the condo. The pest company said that the gas does not leave any type of film or residue on the condo’s contents but can that really be trusted? I do plan to take out all bun things, toys, beds and such. Any guidance is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I know here if we fumigate we leave draws open so the gas goes everywhere killing bugs, we take bunny and pets away for an hour or so and then vac up and shake clothes and bedding and wash them, if its the bomb they will use it will kill all little nasties, I’ve only dealt with bedbugs and was told at the time that pets could be brought in an hour later, I didn’t have any pets and it wasn’t my home, if you leave bunny’s bedding in it will get fumigated, you don’t want to be taking critters back in with you, I think you are from the USA because you mentioned termites, my best friend worked for pest control in the UK, but was lucky enough to travel to America and knows about termites, I’ll call him later see what he says.

Thanks Charlies Angel! I know that it is a pretty common thing in Southern California but so far I’ve been lucky to not have to go through it. Believe me, you should’ve seen me trying to pack up all the bun things!! It definitely defied physics how I got everything in my Jeep!! Oh, and 1 bag for me!! 🙂

I spoke to my friend, he did say to leave all bedding etc in the house to get it fumigated and then just wash it,obviously take hay food and some toys or bunny, good luck with it all.

The fumigation company will give you instructions; basically all plants have to be removed from the house and any food in the refrigerator has to be in a sealed container or bag. They provide plastic bags.  I’d say put bunny pellets in the sealed bag, or just leave them outside of the house.  Our bun went with us to a Marriott Residence Inn.  We put an extra litter box in the trunk of the car, so she had fresh litter boxes for two nights.  Bunny did well in the hotel room.  It was ground floor and had a ceiling to floor curtained window.  She laid between the curtain and window and enjoyed watching people walking by.  The Residence Inn allows dogs and cats, I thought I might get a question, but didn’t.  Bunny had very good litter box manners.
