  My rabbit was neutered last Thursday. I just checked down there today and it seems like there is something round-ish in one side of his scrotum… Is this normal?!! One side is definitely emptier than the other side.

  Is it possible that there is swelling? I know with my bun the sacks were still left, they were just empty and they shrivelled over time. I know they do this with dogs too to allow for swelling. Did he have laser surgery or normal? If he appears to be in pain then I would call the vet just to make sure.

  I’m assuming he had normal surgery since there are two incision marks, one on each sack.
  
  He doesn’t seem to be in pain and is acting normal. He eats, hops, runs, poops and pees normally. I don’t think it’s swelling either since I can kind of move the lump around.

  It takes a while, before the sacks diminish in size, so it could be that one is just healing faster than the other.
  
  Is the larger one warm? Because it could be a sign of infection.

  Indy’s were the same way when he was neutered. One was larger than the other. Just keep an eye on it. If the swelling doesn’t go down soon I’d take him back in for some more meds to fight the infection. Until his fur grows back you will see them still on him. They removed what’s inside them – not the actual sacks as well.

  How is it today? If it’s bigger, it could be swelling and the vet might need to check him out. If the same or smaller, just keep an eye on it (maybe don’t feel it since he must be tender) and it should improve. A good way to check them is to either hold a treat up so he stands up to get it, then look, or slide a hand mirror under him when he stands up a bit.
