Forum DIET & CARE Rabbit suffering from Bloat. Help

        Dear rabbit owners,

        I think my rabbit is suddenly suffering from bloat… , he stopped with eating and drinking for 2 days now and has diarrhea. I have read something at a blog (https://rabbitpedia.com/rabbit-health/bloat/) about homeapathic treatments that might help a bit. Do you have experience with any treatments or should I pay the vet a visit? I am really desperate!

          This is a veterinary emergency and not something you should try to fix at home. It is an emergency when a rabbit hasn’t eaten in 12-24 hours, and your bun has gone 2 days. Diarrhea is in itself a lethal condition, if it’s true diarrhea and your bun doesn’t produce any solid, round poops.

          Contact a vet asap, describe the symptoms and take him in if they tell you to. They should tell you too. He needs sub Q fluids, painkillers and perhaps antibiotics.
