How do your rabbits act? How do they show it?

As known, my bunny is a diva.

While I fell asleep downstairs in the living room (she gets roam of the living room when I’m home), i had my phone in my hand. She comes by, nudges the phone off my hand and puts her nose under my hand for pets!

She can also be an angel. This happened this past weekend when I came home from my grandma’s house. My dad had let Chacha out to play, and he was with her downstairs – WITH A BUNCH OF PAPERS scattered on the ground .. The papers were VERY important!! I asked him if she even tried to nibble the papers!!!! He said “No, she didn’t.” Wow.. coming from the little girl that enjoys chewing on my school stuff

she is also very loving. she likes to HONK at me, honk honk honk honk! she loves to circle me occasionally.. despite being spayed. i guess she loves mommy and is rather rebellious when she doesn’t get attention  she enjoys giving kisses, even if i don’t pet her! She won’t give kisses when I first let her out.. of ‘prison’ x-pen. She has it so easy

So! I wanna know how your bunnies act  are they diva/divos, funny, relaxed?

That was sweet of her not to chew your important papers.

Today Ruby nipped my toe twice.   She could have gone around them but no.   I had to move them.   She is spoilt.  When she wants something she comes to the bedroom door.    She loves being petted.

Cotton Boo.     Well Cotton is Cotton.  He loves to chew books papers boxes.   He seems to know which books not to chew on though.

HE snoozes in his box all day.   HE comes to me to pet him.  Then he runs off eating his hay for a while .   Then he goes to his other spot in the corner.

When he comes to be petted lately he has been stretching out.  He actually dozed off and had his head back at a funny angle cuz when I was petting him his head kept going back n back n back.      I moved his head so he wouldn’t hurt himself.  A little later he woke up stretched out put his head on all the way down and got his lovins.

At about 10 10:30 at nite he knows bed time is coming so he goes to periscope where he knows I keep his raisins in craisins.   If he wants more hay he will go periscope next to his hay container

Ruby almost fell asleep on me last nite.  Too bad I had to get up

I love hearing about bunny personalities! When I speak about Ringo I often get funny looks from people until I explain that he is a house rabbit, nuetred, litter boxed trained and pretty much smarter than any dog or cat I have ever lived with. It seems to me that most people equate a pet rabbit to a pet hamster. I love hamsters too but I think it is apparent that they are much different…

One funny thing Ringo does is he likes to sit under furniture or very still in the corner of a room and lie in wait for one of us to walk by him and then he lunges at our feet…. almost like a cat. I think it is hilarious when he does this because it just seems like such an odd trait of a “prey” animal to literally stalk us like WE are the prey!? We have to be careful because on occasion he truly catches us by surprise in wihch case he accidently gets kicked! He just shakes it off and binkys off with the satisfaction of knowing he got us!! Stinker!

Also, the other day Jason decided to take a nap on the floor and I literally watched that rabbit hop up to him, look over at me, and then nip him right on the side! It was almost like he was saying, “Hey Mom, watch this….. hehehehe.” He also enjoys biting my butt when I am cleaning out his “cage” and have my rear end sticking out… guess he figures I am just asking for it. Haha…. rabbits really are something else!

Hahahaha bunnytowne!! aww, cotton likes to be pet while he is all stretched out? chacha LOVES when i pet her while she is all sprawled out! she will close her eyes and looks comfy!! i try not to touch her tail.. its so cute and white i can’t believe cotton knows what books to chew and not to chew!! my harry potter books have suffered because of chacha! LOL!

everypossibleworld – it is true!! i used to work with a friend that has a bunny as well and we would talk about our bunnies at the register at work. people would go “??????” and be intrigued that bunnies don’t live in hutches and are VERY VERY intelligent animals!! i showed a rather curious, regular customer a picture of my bunny (that is on my phone) and he was like “wow.” it was a picture of my bunny flopped out on her blanket on the living room floor!

ringo seems so naughty my friend’s bunny will lunge.. his territory is basically her room, so he will hop out and lunge at people’s legs when people come in! but he hasn’t bitten me. he just growls at me. he has bitten her and all of her friends, but not me its funny actually!

Hmm I guess the best way to describe Merry is spunky and stubborn!

My favorite thing she’s been doing lately is doing the run to and from her room to the comfy chair in the dining room – jumping onto the chair and almost bouncing off the cushy back! And then running right back and doing it again. She reminds me of a little kid playing.

If I’m on the other side of the grid in the living room and she wants my attention she’ll periscope and kind of tilt her head like “Are you going to notice me now or what?”

She’s also very very vocal when I do something that she doesn’t want me to do (like adjust a blanket or make her go to bed) and gets all growly but as soon as I put my hand on her head she’s all zzzzzzzz *tooth purrrrrrr* pet me please! More!!! *nudges hand* And I can’t even count how many times I’ve gotten the “I can’t believe you’re home 2 minutes late, harrumph” bunny-butt.

She loves her pets and except for the random binky run through the house, she’s very relaxed – flopping down or supermanning anywhere. She’s also super cuddly – well, she’ll let ME be super cuddly with her, but she’s not necessarily a cuddle next to me bunny. It’s like she’s giving me the honor of hugging her and covering her with kisses! I just wish she’d give me licks. I don’t know if it’s too soon (two months) or if she’s just never going to be that way *sigh*

Hershey is super cuddly but a major diva. she loves to be picked up and the more you hug her the more she likes it, lol, but she doesnt like rules.. she’s pretty good but if you say dont do something she’ll do it anyways. She doesnt like to listen to me at all, she knows her name and will come to it but she has selective hearing.. a cuddly diva – who knew!? if you dont play music when she wants it she turns on my ipod docking station, and if a song comes on that she doesnt like (she HATES country and metal) she’ll jumpo on my or bite me untill i change it -.- very tempermental.. not a binkier and prefers to flop our when shes confertable.

Twixy is pretty easy going, she does her tricks just to get her treats, loves her nose rubs, you cant tough her unless she wants you too, just basic rabbitude.. like hershey she doesnt binky much, but likes to loaf around.. LAZY BUNS!! lol, she just wants to please (:

I love everyone’s stories! Ringo is our first rabbit and although I read every rabbit related library book I could get my hands on, countless internet resources and had numerous convos with the shelter workers — I really had no idea what I was getting myself into! I am so glad I did. One of the shelter workers guaranteed that once I joined the ranks of “rabbit people” that I would never turn back… boy was she right! I honestly just decided (after months of research) that a rabbit would be the perfect pet while we were in law school (and beyond of course) and elected to adopt a rabbit in lieu of my being unable to currently care/house a dog. I honestly do not think I will ever have another k-9 pet now…. not after experiencing the wonder of rabbits.

Yup, she was right – I am surely in the ranks of the “rabbit people” now…. haha.

CAINAN: We adopted Ringo in March and it took him a little while to really warm up to us. I remember talking to Jason after only a 2 months or so and remarking at how much he was opening up and becoming a more special pet every single day… he still is. Ringo doesn’t like to be picked up, but he jumps right up on the couch with us or will set with us on the floor. He isn’t much of a “lap bunny” — but thats okay. What I do for kisses is put a small piece of carrot between my lips and let him snatch it out (Jason thinks this is gross – haha). He usually starts trying to stick his entire head in my mouth to see if there are more carrots where that came from and starts kissing my face too. Just be careful your bunny doesn’t accidently bite your lips, Ringo nips be a bit every now and then but it is still worth it lol .

Jenny ..one word…involved. she wants to be involved in EVERYTHING, if your there, she is with you, you try to leave a room she will do her darndest to follow, even if it involves getting sneaky to pull it off, I lay down on my bed, and Jenny will be on my bed with me..usually jumping all over me looking for attention, sometimes she just chills out beside me though. she is very opinionated, if say she wants into a room she is not allowed, she will try to sneak in..usually by hoping under the dogs legs, then she runs around like a maniac in the forbidden area, and when I tell her to get out, she will leave, but she does so in a big huff with an angry stomp on her way out. she is very smart and likes clicker training, if she can get at her treat bag she will often throw it at me when she wants to do tricks lol

Peepers..super curious and playful, she’s a “grass is always greener…” kinda rabbit, give her a big giant area and she wants nothing more then to see whats outside the area. a few weeks ago I didn’t have her gate properly set up, as I was hauling a large dog crate into the bathroom for cleaning(the bathroom is where she plays), I only walked away fro a minute, but when I came back, she was gone, I was on my hands and knee’s searching everywhere for her..finally found her… up a full flight of stairs in th spare room lol she has no fear, didnt even hesitate to head somewhere she had never been before.
