I have been seeing your ideas on rabbitats. cool. however my cotton would just leap right over those things. I bought a 3 ft playpen from the pet store. he leapt right over it.  next day I returned it. for a higher one 4 ft. tallest one I could find well…. I was litter training him and hanging out in the playpen with him lying down and let him explore he would come chew on my book etc. when I first got him.

then when I let him run in the house a bit next then the next day was the pen again.  well I wasn’t inside it I was in kitchen. next thing I know he is on the kitchen table. I put him back in the pen and watched. he leapt. grabbed the 3rd highest bar hung on then in a big burst he climbed the rest of the way to the top hung there then leapt for the table. at that point I knew he had no use for that pen ahaaa. for his safety I didn’t use it for him like that again. I now use it to block my front door. that way he has no chance of running out. yes he tried to go exploring 1 day so now i need to use it just in case. as long as he has the run of the house he is happy and won’t jump the pen.

I use a baby bed rail for the bedroom gate. he gets in sometimes I think he pushes it to make room and in he slips ahaa. so I shut it in the bathroom door to hold it up so he can’t push it. crafty little devil. smart guy I tell you excape artist  if he wants out he is going to get out  or in xcept for his house his cage. I can hear him at the bedroom gate when I go to take a nap I saw him let himself in. now that he can’t he still comes to see where I am and what I am doing. yes I am so glad I have him easier to get over laith this way with this huge character. he is a tiny  lionhead bun too. a little fellow and he can jump that high and climb like that wow

Benjamin has occasionally done what I call the “spider bunny” routine. (Now I can’t help but thinking of “Spider Pig” from the Simpsons Movie.) He occasionally has jumped up into the corner of the cage and just “stuck” there. He never really tries to get out, but just hangs there for a few seconds, then drops down. The first time I saw this I had just woken up and walked into the living room. I look and Benji is just sort of wedged into the corner, hanging on to the wire. He heard me, sort of turned and looked at me like, “What?” Then he dropped down, hopped over to the other side of the cage, and started washing his face as though saying, “Move along; nothing to see here. Nope, I’m not up to no good. Just being a perfectly normal bunny.” As he’s gotten older, he has done it much less frequently, and not at all for about a year. Still, what’s up with little buns climbing vertical surfaces?

            Alex
