  If someone out there could give me some advice I would greatly appreciate it. I’m not sure what to do at this point. I have a five year old mini lop rabbit named Bugsy. Something is wrong with his eyes, the fur is falling out around them in clumps and there’s flaky stuff in the fur. A few months ago I noticed the rims around his eyes were red, so I bought an ointment for eye infections called terramycin. That seemed to reduce the redness, but he’s still having problems. There is also a lot of discharge leaking out of his eyes and it’s drying in clumps. Then a few days ago, I started noticing that he was having a hard time walking and he seemed to slump to the side. Today it got even worse. He was dragging himself along to move around, and his hind-quarters were completely slumped over. He’s been eating the same and peeing and pooping the same. I’m not comfortable with seeing a vet because of the virus but I just don’t know what else to do at this point. Can anyone give me some advice?

  Not sure what’s going on, but it sounds very serious. You need to have him seen by a vet ASAP. Most vets (at least in my state) are doing “curbside” service so there is little to no covid risk for the humans, then they call you during the exam.

  I also recommend going to a rabbit-experienced vet as soon as possible. How are things going now?

    Things are basically the same. I’m definitely going to have to go to a vet. I’m glad they’re doing curbside services because otherwise I would be scared to go inside.
