Hey everybunny! I have a quick question? Recently I’ve been finding clumps of fur in my bunnies little bed an I’m not sure why it’s in there? I’ve had rabbits for almost 2 years now and I’ve done so much research and I’ve never heard of this! I’m really worried I don’t think she’s pregnant and I don’t think she’s having a false pregnancy? About a month ago my male and my female BOTH unaltered got out of their cages but I caught them just in time so there is no way my male got her pregnant. I really don’t know what to do, she’s not even shedding so it can’t be from her sleeping in there and then the fur gets stuck the the bed.

Unfixed females can have false labor all the time. Mine did until she was spayed. And unfixed bunnies have a 80% chance of developing interior cancer by the age of 3. Are you able to get her spayed? If not she might need to get spayed to get the cancer out if she gets it.

Both Little Peanut (my female) and Thumper (my male) are being fixed on the 18th of this month. I’m aware of the risks of unaltered Rabbits.

Okay, I just didn’t see you mention anything about it. A lot of people don’t know the risks so I wanted to make sure!

It does sound a lot like she’s constructing a nest. Have you checked her dewlap, tummy and hind end? Thats where they typically pull fur from. You might even find it comes out easily. Hopefully it is a false pregnancy..

Is there anyone else in the household who could have let them together?

Hey guys it’s definitely a false pregnancy! I just didn’t see the signs before but now I see her pulling her fur and she’s crying and whining due to the stress. Everytime I go near her “nest” she cry’s it’s definitely false pregnancy and she’s definitely not pregnant (no bulging nipples or big belly) thanks for your concerns about my Little Peanut! I should’ve watched her better in the beginning.

They both jumped out of their cages in the morning but my mom was quick to grab the little turds! She is definitely not preggo! I just get so worried for my baby. I can’t wait till the 18th for their sterilization.
