I have noticed lately that my bunny Coco will only nibble her pellets during the day, I’ll check the next morning and they will have all been eaten. The same goes for hay. Is this normal?

What time do you feed her the pellets? I feed pellets once late in the evening and my buns will munch them for a bit and then go do something else, but by the morning, they are all gone. My buns only have veggies and hay during the day, and they certainly eat A LOT during the day too.

Rabbits do eat more at night in my opinion as they sleep much of the day.

Jenny eats almost exclusivly at night, and it aint because she sleeps all day..quite the opposite, she is EXTREMLY active during the day, then goes nuts for food at night..probably to replace all those calories she burned all day lol

I think mine do that to make sure I’m not going to come across with something better.Sometimes they are so displeased with my offering for dinner, Pringles will sniff it and go jump in the litter box to munch on old bedding hay, making sure all the time that I’m watching. But when I get up in the morning, every little sprig is gone.

I feed pellets in the morning, give more hay, and give veggies at night.
My bunny tends to run after me when I come downstairs with her veggie plate in my hand. She eats it all up very quickly.

Mine eat the most at night too. They always nibble throughout the day though. And yes, they seem to snub their lettuce at first. I give it to them by 7pm and I think I need to wait until later. But by morning it’s gone which is all I care about. Nothing ticks me off more than when I give them their lettuce, they get all excited, sniff at it and then go over to their pellets. GRRRRR LOL

yup mine are like that.. eat at night water and sleep through the day, mind you since school got out for the summer their outside in the grass all day so they tend to ignore anything “man made”

(its true! finally twix doesnt rush me when she hears me open the pellet bucket)

It clearly depends on the rabbit. The majority of my rabbits are morning rabbits and chow down in the morning because that’s our routine – greens in the morning.

However, I am rabbit sitting a little netherland and he’s clearly not a morning rabbit – he eats overnight. But the other rabbit I am rabbit sitting from the same home is a morning rabbit – at least for food. He is ready for greens and begging. So I have to think it’s just the rabbit and their own little eating habit.

i think it has something to do with them being crepuscular.theyre more awake and active at night time so they eat more.My nethie bunny is like that but my other bunny pretty much eats every second of her life.
