First of all, let me qualify that I’m not talking about soft cecal. Let’s talk true diarrhea.

Let’s assume no rabbit vet is available because that’s the likely scenario in my country.

I’ve researched four core drugs: loperamide, attapulgite, activated charcoal, kaolin & pectin

I’d like to ask for your thoughts and experiences about any of those.

        Thank you!

If your rabbit has true diarrhea, I strongly advise you to seek out a vet. I know you say that you likely don’t have one around, but you really should double check to be sure. This situation is serious for your rabbit.

Before considering treatment, a better understanding is required.

How many episodes/affected poos, what changes or is your rabbits current diet, and what is your rabbit’s physical activity level?

I thought that true diarrhea was always a serious problem? Am I missing something??

In some cases, it could just be liquid poo as a result of passing something that was not agreeable to the rabbits tract.

Wick got a piece of cucumber peels once and plop went a gross liquid poo. Obviously did not feed him anymore so no more liquid poop.

That’s why I’m asking about frequency. If it’s beyond a small one time occurrence, then yes, a serious issue.

It’s a scenario. There’s no bunny in trouble. I am saying I have access to rabbit vet, but 90% of folks that ask me via my rabbit page don’t have access because of their location.

Besides if and when the time comes when my rabbit vet prescribes something, I want to be able to question him intelligently.

And that’s why I’m looking for insights related to those drugs. Anyone with experience using any of those?
