Hello! My rabbit, cookie, has recently started digging at her memory foam mat, this has been a problem before, I took out the mats and not long after I noticed her hocks were slightly sore so I took her to the vet and they gave me stuff to treat for it, her hocks are fine now so taking the mats out are out of the question, I started to wrap sheets around them and that helps but she seems to just dig and chew on the sheets . I love my little rabbit and only want the best for her so could any one give me some tips for this chewing problem in her cage. Btw her cage is huge! I can lay down in it and it’s two floored. Thanks! ?

as i’m sure you know already, rabbits are naturally destructive and also love to dig and chew. have you ever thought of buying some of those woven grass mats? i haven’t tried them myself just yet but i’ve heard buns love them. you could also make your own similar digging toy or just provide a box that your bun can jump on or crawl inside of. Sienna has a cardboard box in her cage area that she hops onto and digs at. she loves it! other people on this forum might have other ideas on how you can fix this problem, but that’s my input.
