When I first got my Rabbit (about 4 weeks ago?) I got her a cage that is 40 x 18 x 20 inches. She’s already growing pretty fast and the cage is getting a little small. The thing is that I’m homeschooled so she gets to be out of her cage all day, literally all day. The only time she’s in the cage is during the night time.

Should I get a bigger cage anyway, or just keep it since she’s only in there for a short time?

Bigger is always better even if she is out all day. That cage is WAY too small. A full grown rabbit should be able to stand, stretch, eat, poop and sleep in their cage. The minimal should be 4 feet x 4 feet x 4 feet for a normal size rabbit (not large NZ or Flemish Giant) even if they are allowed out all day :~)

That’s what I thought, it’s just the biggest cage they had at my dinky small town pet store. I’m currently saving up for bigger.

Get an exercise pen, they are cheaper and offer more space than any store bought cage PLUS they are easier to clean

                Your entire house

I’m kidding, heh heh. An exercise pen, or two should be fine.

Also, keep in mind that things come up when you won’t be home all day. I like knowing that if for some reason I have to keep them penned, they have a large enough space. Store-bought cages are okay for babies, but an adult rabbit needs a larger space.
