Hi, im new here and have never posted on a forum before.

I just need some advice from everyone out there.

I’ve got builders coming to my house for the day and i want to get my rabbit out of the house, just because the builders will be very loud and using power tools. I live in an apartment so i cant move Pops to another room or outside for the day.

I have a friend that has agreed to bunny sit for the day while im also at work. Im just a little worried, my friend smokes inside the house but I’ve been assured that Pops will be kept in a room where they dont smoke and they’ll smoke outside while Pops is over. Im just a bit worried about it, it’ll be less than 24 hours.

Am i just being too overprotective?

I think your friend’s house sounds a like a much more friendly environment for Pops than the suddenly noisy one filled with noises he isn’t used to, especially if it isn’t you making those noises. We use power tools in our home with no bad effects with our rabbits, but our rabbits are also very used to the loud television playing action movies and horror shows. They are used to loud and sudden noises randomly happening in our home and know they are safe here anyway.

My question to you would be, would the noises bother him more than him being moved to a strange location for a day? Is he used to travelling?

Have to agree with manic. My boys are abysmal travellers and find new places more stressful than anything else. Because they are free roaming I shut them in the bathroom last time people were round. They didn’t appreciate it but for them it was better than being journeyed around

              Thanks for your replies!

Pops has traveled before, only short distances but he seems fine by it. He’s the king of the house so i don’t know how he’ll go being locked in a bathroom for the day.

He’s used to random loud noises, like trucks passing by. There was construction work going on down the road the other week and he didn’t seem too bothered by it. But maybe that’s because he was still in his safe place.

Would you think it’s more stressful for him to deal with loud noises for a few hours or to stay in a strange place fot 24 hours?

I would probably bring him to the friend’s place if it’s not too long of a drive.
