Rabbit attack, will neutering help?

So, Rodan and Lucky are *not* enjoying each other. I only let Rodan out (the new, unneutered male) if Lucky is locked in my room…he attacks Rodan from inside his ex pen (has ripped lots of hair off big goofy Rodan..who likes to spray urine all over Lucky. and then scent mark poops surrounding his cage. total nightmare!)

 

So, last night I had Rodan on the couch, it has been proven thus far he cannot jump onto or off the couch (he’s terrified) Lucky was out but not next to us. 

He jumped up and stared at my boyfriend, then got up in his face and omg, seriously stared him down. (Lucky has attitude.)

I switched sides, to protect Rodan, Lucky jumps up on my boyfriends left side…sniffed his arm then latched on! he has a horrible bite on his arm now!

I was bit twice when Lucky tried to attack rodan the first day, when I realized what an issue it would be I just haven’t put them near each other( Rodan will be neutered on tuesday!) But, why is Lucky attacking us? He is chasing the kids, jumping on them..he’s seriously not even 4lbs but thinks he’s a rottweiler apparently!

they are starting to lay next to each other (through the pens) and I fed Rodan next to lucky (outside lucky’s pen) and they ate next to each other. they like to lay near each other but can’t physically be close without violence (undestandable until Rodan is neutered) so, I’m thinking the snoozing next to each other and eating may be a good sign??

Everyone’s smells are getting mixed up and this is causing Lucky to go into territorial mode.

I’d suggest that they only be allowed out one at a time for the next month, maybe even two months (neuter + time to heal/hormones to decrease).

If this aggression continues, you might find it is hard to bond them later on (if bonding is your goal). I think you will need to take things very slowly with these two.
