my rabbit accidentally ate chewing gum, he was relaxing a friend of mine until the gym my friend was chewing fell out onto the floor and before we could reach to grab it off of the floor, bubbles had already eaten it.

i’m very worried, should i take him in to the vet immediately? should i get him to eat more hay?

        please help 🙁

At least you know how much he got. I would encourage hay, water, greens (if he already has those in his diet). That should help move the gum through. Monitor closely and see a vet it be stops pooping, eating or is showing discomfort.

He should be okay. We’ve had lots of owners report this happening… some eating multiple sticks of gum.

          Keep us posted!

Do you know if the gum had aspertame in it? Used to sweeten a lot of gums and is toxic to bunnies. Whether it’s a problem would really depend on how much he ate.

It’s been months since this has happened and I’m sorry for my very late reply, but things are looking up now! He seems fine, I fed him lots of hay & leafy greens, and he’s drinking water. Thank you! ☺️
