I’ve been taking Bernard outside everyday because I’ve never seen him happier than when he’s outside. But I made the mistake of putting the puppy pen directly under my apricot tree for shade. I guess a thin stick from it fell into his pen and he only ate maybe two small bites before I took it away. That was 5 mins ago and so far he’s acting normal. Should I be worried?

Also, he used to live in my backyard for about 4 months before we rescued him, so I’m guessing he’s eaten them before

Fresh apricot wood is toxic to rabbits, so you do want to eliminate that opportunity, regardless of past experiences.

It sounds like he ate a small amount, so hopefully it’ll work through his system without too many issues. I would continue to monitor for the day and go to the vet if something concerning occurs.

I did move his pen to the other side of the yard so he can’t eat anymore 🙂 He’s acting normal still so I think he’ll be fine
