        Hey

So Sunny’s a Californian…around 8-10 lbs. I’ve been feeding her about (not measured, but her pellets are 1/4 cup) 2 cups of different veggies (romaine, baby spinach, collard & mustard greens) a night..Sooooo I’ve come to the bunny people I trust . This is about right as far her size to amount, right?

I just like to be sure on things like this, so I know she’s healthy.

P.S…should she be getting more than 1/4th cup of pellets? Or more?

          How old is she again?

My bunnies that are about 5-6 lbs. are getting a Tablespoon of pellets per day, but when I first had them I actually did give them a quarter cup. I think it is OK for her size, as long as she is still eating lots of hay, and pooping regularly. If you find she is having problems with having squishy poops, or getting a messy bum, the first thing I would do is cut down on the pellets. They are really more of a diet “supplement” and not necessary, so if you need to give her less it will not hurt her.

The 2 cups of veggies is also a good amount, again, it depends a little bit on the bunny. Some bunnies are more sensitive to veggies and will get squishy or runny poops if they get more than they can handle, but if her poops are looking healthy, then that is a good amount. My bunnies usually get around 1.5 cups of veg per day and do well with that.

As she’s an adult, I personally wouldn’t try increasing her pellets now. What you give sounds good. They can actually go without pellets anyway – just have a hay & veg diet.

I would also agree that increasing pellets is not a good idea. As long as she always has access to fresh hay and gets daily veggies, she should be fine. If she’s going thru the veggies very quickly, you may even want to increase them to 3 cups per day…

Thank you =]. I was just being sure, I haven’t changed the amount of pellets. Asking never hurts, right?
