I’ve seen a lot of people in here say that their vet charges like $5.00, $7.00, $10.00 for nail trims..

I know mine charges $7.00 but I got them done during the visit.  So, when you say that your vet charges ..whatever amount is that IT or do they also charge the price of the office visit?  I will obviously call my vet to see what their policy was but I didn’t want to call and sound like an idiot asking if they’re going to charge an office visit fee and have them think I’m ridiculous for even asking LOL

So  I thought if I had an idea of what the “norm” was I could go from there.

my vet charges 22 bucks for both total…

$12- for two nail trims ($6 a bunny)
$10- vet tech visit (this is only charged once)

the tech weighs them at each visit also. i like having a monthly record of their weights. i feel like it would make it easier to catch a big drop or gain that was abnormal…

mine charges $12 a bunny, and I can take them before work and pick them up afterwards. They get to hang out in the quiet room in a big cage and the tech just dote on whichever one I bring.

$22 total for two buns- $11 per bun for the trim no extra charge for the visit.

I made friends with the vet’s receptionist. haha. I just call and say she only needs a nail trim and it’s $7. OR I bring her in once or twice a year for a “well baby checkup” and have it done then, sometimes they don’t charge since I am paying the $35 office visit fee. JUST ASK- NEVER HURTS TO ASK!

Don’t be shy to ask – I’m sure that they always get questions about costs for various types of services. I take my bunny to the North Texas Rabbit Sanctuary and they do not charge for a visit however I usually give a small donation when they do the bunny’s nails (especially because I’ve got a crazy kicking bunny!)

my vet is very nice, i ASKED for a office visit and a new bunny checkup, he went through and did everything, checked heart, eyes, ears, sexed etc. and ONLY charged the $7.00 for the nail trim he did! So i dont get charged for anything but the nail trim

^^^if we are already there for a vet exam, i don’t get charged the $10 for vet tech visit. so the vet visit is $27, and then it’ll be an add’l 12 bucks for two trims. PeppersMama, if you were to go in for ONLY a nail trim, chances are you’d have to pay a vet tech fee as well.

You might ask at a pet shop. A local (non-chain store) pet shop did my buns’ nails for $5.

^^^i know some local petstores do this but i’ve always been concerned about cleanliness and the know-how of the employees. i guess i think that they might not be that much better at nail trimming than i am at home. and if they’re trimming other animals that maight be ill… i don’t know…
